What you need to know about 100 series aftermarket wheel options

late to the party. Would you mind sharing a picture of how much the tires poke out? You are running a 275/70/18?

damn! that is as close to perfectly aligned with the fender as I've seen. Mine is a southern 100 so I have the extra fender flares so I think this could be the ticket. thanks again.

appreciate that! I'm still looking at these and the 705s with +35 offset. These ones are about $400 cheaper for the set.

Hey all, Thanks for all the replies and education thus far. So I've narrowed this down to the following light weight Method options with offset being an important factor as well. Method 705: 17x8.5 +35 offset Method 316 : 17x8 +25 offset I will run the 285/70/17 Ko2 in a C rated. Which...

    Method Racing Wheels

Oddly Method's website says the 705s don't fit a 100 series. But they clearly offer the 5x150 bolt pattern. I am definitely eyeing these and the 316s but those are a +25 offset and +35 seems more ideal to me. Do you have any side profile pictures of the poke on these?

do you happen to have any photos of how much these poke? I'm eyeing these wheels hard to pair with 285/70/17 KO2s. I was hoping to find a wheel with +35 offset but maybe +25 works because this wheel in on 17x8

    Tire Choice Help

There are countless threads on this forum with members reporting better ride quality switching from E to C rated. Likewise, there are countless reports of acceleration / braking loss when going to a heavier E rated tire. My current E rated tires need to be replaced so I am simply trying to...

    Tire Choice Help

Thanks for your reply and I’m well aware of the tire side of the equation. I guess sometimes it seems like folks obsess on the tire weight and forget the wheel. Luckily the FN 17” wheels seem to be very light and offer some great tire options at lighter weight as well. Thanks everyone for...

FN Wheels : 100-Series Specific Wheels

@FNWheels hey Dustin, I am also curious what the weight of both these models are. For the six shooter your website says 26.7 lbs but in the listing it says 24 lbs. Are the 5 stars 22 lbs? How close does “approx” mean in this case. Thx!

Thanks for this advice. They claim their 5 star model for the 100 series is approx. 22lbs which would pair nicely with some C rated KO2s. I’m trying to get together some more MUD members to go in on an order for the matte black ones :)

I am interested in the 5 star in matte black as well! Hope we can get a few more peeps on the order. Anyone else?

Not sure if you read my original post. I’m coming off 33” E rated KO2s. With a new tire my #1 goal is to improve ride quality while maintaining a 33” size and off-road capable. This drives me obviously towards a C rated tire, not an OE option. That said, if I can find a light 17” wheel, I can...

    Tire Choice Help

The FCS wheels come in at 18.5 lbs and the stock 18” wheels are around 28 lbs. That’s 10 lbs of unsprung mass per tire. From the many hours I’ve spent researching this topic, 40 lbs of unsprung mass will significantly effect acceleration and breaking… there seems to be two camps on this… Camp 1...
