Okay guys this is a petty one but honestly driving me crazy that I haven’t sorted it. My rear hatch is not turning on rear roof light on my 1997. The back doors will..at least my passenger ...side so I know the bulb and switch on actual light works. How the heck does the back hatch work...

Have a very clean 1996 LC wrapping up a refresh on it this weekend. Very solid mechanical truck with no more than minor needs. Paint presents very well. No dents other than minor on front bumper. No rust and super clean underneath (pictures show a little dirt) Just repainted hood and rear...

Have a green 96 no lockers that is a clean, no rust, mechanically solid truck that I’ve been refreshing. Should be an awesome truck for someone. 235k miles. Lots of mechanical records.

So the final on the hood ain’t perfect but certainly good enough to hurt one’s feelings the first time you scratch it. Automotivetouchup.com 6M1 is a spot on match. Hood is repaint. Fender is factory original.

Seems like a good product so far. Guess time will tell. If you paint a whole truck, you can do the math but I’d say 2 gallons primer, 1 gallon color and 2 gallons of gloss to be sure you have enough. Maybe could be done with 25% less.

Still gotta wet sand and buff it.

....I can also tell you if I go for the roof(also gloss coat failure) I will not be doing a back to bare metal paint removal. The factory paint is sealer, primer, thick color and then gloss. I’ll sand off the gloss and color and go from there...if that. That stuff was solid after 23 years...

It’s three part primer, color and gloss. Shot with air compressor and gravity feed air gun. Got the paint from Www.automotivetouchup.com Took 2 quarts of primer, 1 quart of color, and 2 quarts of gloss to lay down enough for good coverage of hood and rear upper hatch. Color match is good...

Would recommend some serious commitment if you want to try this at home. PITA! But won’t have gloss coat peal for a while.
