I don’t notice any noise on left turns, also embarrassed to say I don’t know if it has a viscous coupler or not. CDL is not locked because I can definitely tell when it’s locked.

I forgot to say the skipping/chirping is coming from the tires.

Can someone tell me the name of interior liner of the front hood? Mine is in desperate need of replacement. Not sure of its purpose… noise dampening, heat insulation, other? Is it essential and more importantly, where can I find a replacement? Thanks.

No I didn’t. I thought I was being safe using a brass hammer but it still deformed the studs. Your other question… I’m not really sure, but I would guess about 15,000 miles. No serious off-roading but I would say rough conditions on unpaved roads with gullies and washouts. I’m hoping this...

Over the years I have had the knuckles rebuilt four times on my 94 80 series Land Cruiser to include the birfields… the last two times I did it myself in the driveway. However, I have never replaced the outer flange bolts (I think that’s what they’re called) and the cone washers and this time...

TexasJack, your instrument cluster is really bright and clear. Did you do anything different such as upgrade the light bulbs with LED’s? Mine is dull even when rheostat dialed to its brightest. Thanks.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I had replacing the bushings on my long list of things to do but wasn’t high on the priority. I’m now moving it up in my prioritization! I’ll let everyone know if it solves the issue.

Thanks for the feedback. It was actually making the noise prior to the knuckle rebuild and no change after this work was done. It does seem to occur when the chassis torques a bit when backing out of driveway (turning) and hitting a slight drop from driveway to the street. Noise doesn’t occur...
