NEW 80 Series Multigauge Clock Replacement

I have a 94 and would love to have fidelity on engine, outside, and trans temps and any other functionality that can be done. I have a TOYOBD1 for dealing with the oddness that is OBD1 and apparently, this tool is now hen's teeth rare and in high demand by the Supra people.

ARCHIVE HD Soft Shackle Recovery Points for 60/80/100

Is there any downside to using the radiused tow points with a conventional Crosby shackle other than increased cost?

It's super tight. you might be able to get something VERY thin there. But no IFAK, double magazine pouches, etc.

Mounting tools and light weight items to stock roof rack?

Consider this for deleting the main bars and leave the ribs in place. Reversible if you have a wild notion to return to the port-installed rack: https://absolute-wits-end.com/80-series-roofrack-elimination-hardware/

Mounting tools and light weight items to stock roof rack?

Just go with a Yakima, Thule, or generic commercial ladder rack. The port installed rack is a terrible design and can support minimal weight due to basically being screwed into rivnuts in the sheet metal. Think of the flex and weight of those tools up there, especially if you throw a Hi-Lift...

    Scheel-Mann Seat Install

Hard to make a business case for a niche of a niche, even if they only have to get a new upper pattern. I'll go with Knightsbridge once I get the interior well and truly torn apart for wiring and upgrades.

    Scheel-Mann Seat Install

If you have your seat set back, it's very snug between the side of the seat and the B-pillar and you may have problems with an outside armrest. Check with some of the vendors.

    Scheel-Mann Seat Install

True. But like bicycles, race vehicles, and airplanes, you'll be in the dollars-per-gram in weight savings after a certain point. I'd LOVE to find an OBD-2 poverty pack truck with manual windows, no sunroof, no fiberglass flares, and rubber floor. But that isn't likely to happen. My goal in the...

    Scheel-Mann Seat Install

The OEM seat sure feels a lot heavier than the S-Ms. But I agree that an 8lb weight loss alone won't make a difference on a 5313lb stock curb weight (US trim) vehicle. It would be very difficult or expensive to trim more than 100-200lbs out of an FZJ80 by deleting sound deadening and power...

Well, looks like the Delta Bags Covers are out since they aren't for XXL PIMPTHRONE Note: Only fitting for scheel-man Vario, NOT for Vario XXL and Vario E. https://www.delta-bags.de/en/Seat-Cover-scheel-mann-Vario-Gruenbraun/O-5298-20.1

Yep. Plus you don't have to deal with international shipping DHL drama, VAT shenanigans, etc. Things to think about, for sure.

I can't access that link at work. What's the approximate cost in $ or Euros?

    Scheel-Mann Seat Install

Not on the website; contact them. As of a May 2020 email from John Edelman at KBO, they had an XXL seat for pattern making.

    Scheel-Mann Seat Install

Cost and value are not synonyms. These aren't cheap seats. But they are high value seats. Also, Knightsbridge Overland, who specialize in interior bits for off-brand 4x4s, makes covers for the Scheel Mann Vario (in both regular and XXL size) in the event you want to keep them clean and...
