Oxy sensor plug wiring harness - female plugs….

Thanks Matt - I’ll investigate further and see if it’s melted! I have some long wires with alligator clips - do you know where i should connect on the engine / emissions side to test the wires for continuity?

Oxy sensor plug wiring harness - female plugs….

I’ve been having issues with error codes 25 & 26 for a few years. I’ve replaced sensors and various emissions components, but it keeps popping up…sometimes after an hour+, sometimes during a 10 minute drive. My smog guy suggested replacing the O2 wiring harness - specifically the female plugs...

    Check engine code 25,26 (lean & rich) - 88 FJ62

Thanks for the ideas! I checked the MAF per the service manual - all of the ohm reading were within expected ranges…so I’m thinking the MAF is okay. After I put the MAF back together, I let the engine idle and sprayed ether all around the throttle body gasket, as well as all other air intake...

    Check engine code 25,26 (lean & rich) - 88 FJ62

Update on my CEL 25,26 journey: I have replaced both O2 sensors (with Densos) and replaced both catalytic converters. I have reset the computer by pulling the fuse. After a 10-30 minute drive, the check engine light comes on and it's code 25,26. Does any one have any suggestions on where to...

    Check engine code 25,26 (lean & rich) - 88 FJ62

Update: still throwing codes 25,26…when I tested from Ox1 and Ox2 at diagnostic port after a 2 minute warmup @ 2500 rpm, the oxygen sensor voltages swing low-high-low-high as expected. I’m checking with a digital multimeter, which it’s a little sketchy, but it feels correct. I decided to test...

1989 fj62 3f wiring diagram for instament cluster

Still in process! I fried my gauge, bought a used cluster from eBay ($50) …because hey, maybe another gauge will blow in the future. I have not replaced the gauge yet…seems like a PIA to remove the dash to fix an oil pressure gauge…which is why I’m procrastinating! I’ll post pics when I get it...

    Check engine code 25,26 (lean & rich) - 88 FJ62

My FJ62 is throwing codes 25, 26. CEL comes on after warmup and driving after 5-10 miles. Other than the pesky CEL light, engine seems fine. I hooked a digital volt meter to Ox1 & ground, and also Ox2 and ground, and got a steady voltage swing from about 0.1 volts, to .9 volts around 1 cycle...

Need help with mystery ground wire…

Interesting…it ground the engine block to the frame? The PO swapped in a used 3FE at some point. Perhaps this just didn’t get reconnected? Will this cause issues if it stays disconnected? (I’m chasing down CEL 25,26)

Need help with mystery ground wire…

I discovered a disconnected / floating ground wire on my FJ62 that has me stumped. Could someone with an intact fj62 take a look at the attached images and advise where this ground ‘should’ be attached? The other end is bolted to the passenger side firewall near heater/AC stuff?

Grab electric from amplifier for power seats?

I just read through you build thread….dude! Inspirational to say the least! I got some good ideas on how to dial in my bmw seats too!!

Grab electric from amplifier for power seats?

f I was thinking that the fused accessory wire would flip a relay that would close a circuit allowing a direct line from battery to seat…not powering the seats with the fused accessory wire. In terms of powering the BMW seats with the key/power off, my concern is that these seats need to be...

Grab electric from amplifier for power seats?

I recently installed some awesome BMW 3 series powered seats in my FJ62. I rigged up a 555 timer as has been described here any other places to trick the computer in the seats into thinking they are connected to a BMW. (It’s really just an intermittent 5v pulse that keeps thr seat control from...

Hood release latch does not spring back in after release.

$45 bucks for a new hood release cable! It took about 30 minutes to remove the old cable and fish in the new. Two 10mm bolts under the steering wheel on the release handle mount. Three 10mm bolts on the hood release latch mechanism. Here are some more photos of the process. You can see my old...

Hood release latch does not spring back in after release.

Thanks for the suggestions! After further examination, I see that the cable within the sheathing is a few inches too long. Short enough to catch the spring loaded release mechanism, but too long to retract my hood release handle. I also see that the plastic / wound metal sheathing is coming...

Hood release latch does not spring back in after release.

I have a 88 FJ62 with a tired, old hood release latch and cable. It ‘works’ and releases the hood, but upon pulling the release pull under the steering wheel, the handle stays slack…and I have to push it back into its sleeve. Questions: do I need a new hood release cable? Is there some kind...
