    Project: Domino Effect ('94)

In accordance with the domino effect, tracked down my noise to what I believe is a passenger rear wheel bearing. Decided to try to rotate the tires, and when I push/pull from the top and bottom of the tire I can hear clicking in that wheel bearing. Ordered the parts from Cruiserteq and the tool...

How heavy is your 80's series?

I was 5500 with 35x12.5s, SR5 4runner 17s, and a steel front bumper. No 3rd row. Me and full tank of gas. No spare, my tool roll, and WK sliders. Recently swapped to 275/85/17, with a spare under the rear on 17x9s. 10k Winch in the front. Arb twin under the passenger seat, and 1/0 running...

Faulty 1FZ-FE Idle Speed Control Valve / IAC

I did. Cleaned out the passage for the IAC and just kind of cleaned the plunger a bit. Haven't had an issue in about 2-3000 miles.

    80 Series Tow Wagon

My image of Australia/New Zealand is such that you can just walk down to the corner store, pickup bread and meat for lunch, a spare Land Cruiser, fuel, even a pet Koala, then head back home. It truly is a magical place down under. Perhaps in the example of New Zealand it would be sheep instead...

Fitting ssw Dakar beadlocks on an 80 series

Realized there is no way to get the calipers in the wheel. 😅 Nothing short of taking the wheel off and measuring the rear hub. And I don't have the energy for that tonight.

    80 Series Tow Wagon

I came to suggest the same videos. Guy is currently on 40s with stock axles and the 6BT. Personally I'd love to have a 1HD-FT over a 6BT, but I can understand the desire to have it, being in New Zealand and the toyota diesel not exactly being rare. I'd definitely go for the manual option if you...

Ignition key can pull out of tumbler while in drive

To be honest I was disappointed that I couldn't pull the key out of the 80 while it was running to run over to the other vehicle and start it and move it, or run back into the house etc. I got used to that with a couple of older Toyotas I had in the past. But this example makes sense as to why...

Fitting ssw Dakar beadlocks on an 80 series

I have a set of wheels on my 80 that are advertised as 106.2. They fit fine. Guess I could take a caliper to them and verify. But likely what causes all those wheels to not fit is the ring inside that holds the centercap on. Most wheels that have bolt on centercaps and are advertised at 106.2...

I do want to say that I think they were too soft for me personally daily driving with no sway bars at all. With both sway bars they'd probably be mint. I just chose not to run a front sway. If I knew my wife was gonna drive it all the time I'd probably put it on. But then she did drive the FJ...

Based on the fact your profile says AZ, you are a little to far to take a test drive. Otherwise I'd recommend it. I know that I have 3"flexi springs because I still have most of the stickers, but I think my springs are also somehow over sprung? They don't sit like most pictures I've seen of...

    Project: Domino Effect ('94)

Fixed the transfer case threads with a 3/4-16 tap and a new magnetic drain plug from Dorman. Drove it to work today. Didn't see any leaks. Hoping after work that is still the case.

Length on them is perfect. When I get a moment, I'll go back and edit that post with the exact model numbers just need to remember what they are. I put zipties on them after install, then went back to Barnwell for testing still with no swaybars like I had with the Nitro Dobinson shocks. No...

    Project: Domino Effect ('94)

In keeping with the spirit of the thread title....changing oil in the transfer case and putting the drain plug back in, didn't even apply any force to it, it went in easy enough by hand, put the socket wrench on it and start to tighten then Slip, me thinking I slipped the socket off i try again...

    Project: Domino Effect ('94)

Forgot that when changing the accel cable I noticed the steering seal/boot was completely flogged out. Occasionally I'd feel like my feet were getting drafts of hot air. Well I ordered and took care of that this spring as well. Also I like to know what the vehicle weighs, previously with...
