I measured mine the same way, but on a slightly wider rim. So that makes perfect sense. Interesting that something which is stated 255/85 would be taller than something stated 275/85. I need to measure the free height of mine though. I'll try to do it this weekend.

I suppose it wouldn't be much good for GMRS in that case then. I've got an ~18" and a 42" aerial I swap out depending on where I'm going. I can get down a lot more trails with the shorter one. But they are both dual band and mounted on the back of the 80. I'm just a lowly technician though. 😅

Let me know what measurements you need from the skidplate for the RHD/1HDT 100 skidplate. Unfortunately there is no USDM skidplate to put next to it.
