    40th Anniversary Reconditioning Project

Finally, as another update here, I was a bit surprised that the place helping with the work has pushed to do the paint last instead of first. Given that they have a very busy shop, I guess I can appreciate the desire not to let anything happen to the paint while they deal with everything else...

I also have been working to put together an estimate of the work and this is a cut and paste version of the first draft work order, which will evolve next week before work begins: Parts Toyota red coolant Parts PHH kit, silicone hose with two constant torque clamps Labor Flushing out...

WHEELS. Keep the originals. I do plan to have the wheels and center caps prepped and powder coated. One challenge is that the 40th edition have two tone wheels - the inside parts of the rim are dark gray and the outside is lighter gray. Just have to find a paint shop willing to do the careful...

    40th Anniversary Reconditioning Project

UPDATE: I finally have some news to report. I took the truck in and spent about four hours going over everything on my list with the team that will be doing the work. It was pretty amazing to be in a roughly 7 bay garage with nothing but LandCruisers and then about 25 in the parking lot, all in...

CLIMR - The fog shot is amazing. This build is what I'm going for in many ways. Can I ask a few questions; 1. Which front bumper exactly did you use? And which winch? 2. Which roof rack is that? 3. Where did you get your HID's - were they custom built to an exacting spec from you or somehow...

WOW M1C4H! Your rig looks amazing. OK, I guess I am being swayed - exactly why I wanted to post this before I formally begin work on the 25th of February. I've definitely added heated seats and LED reverse bulbs to the plan of record. The leather you got looks amazing. We want to try to match...

Small point and I can't edit the original post but - my 40th special edition is #0110, not #4110.

Oh and, I forgot to add to my thread that I was planning to add the heated seats since it does seem relatively easy and trouble free to install.

Thank you for the detailed reply. I keep going back and forth on the HID's. My worry is that the ballasts will take up too much room in the engine bay, and become multiple new points of failure. But of course I love the look. If it was more "plug and play" I would do it in a moment. I just...

Also I looked up those wheels. I have to admit, they look amazing. Food for thought.

Do you have any leads on LED reverse lights that you like? I guess I worry that there will be too much in the way of extra transformers, etc. but perhaps I am overthinking it.

I have been looking into this company: Safety Restore in Westfield, Mass Then there is this, not a perfect match, but better than grey: Ebay UK tan seatbelts Do you have any thoughts on either of these options? My belts are not in bad shape, they simply don't retract (which then leads to them...

And here is another view of the exterior and a few other points of interest. Its not in bad shape. I have considered the possibility that it doesn't need new paint, and could be detailed/buffed to remove oxidation. Because of the snow I didn't get good photos of the hood or roof but it doesn't...
