50 mm spacers for rear springs - good/bad idea?

Not a fan of spacers, more a temporary measure than anything, if the cars a long term keeper, think about setting it up properly, maybe a conventional suspension setup? airbags? heavier springs? Also, adjusting the torsion bars by winding them up will throw your wheel alignment out, often...

    Rhino Rack - pioneer

Hey FJ40, i really have know idea about the backbone system, does look pretty neat though. Here's a couple of close up pics showing gap between roof and rack.

    Rhino Rack - pioneer

I definitely prefer the appearance of the narrower rack, I have a number of lights permanently mounted, a 120w solar panel and there's still plenty of space up there for jerry can holders, maxtrax, awning, camp gear etc. Mine has the side rails also, which again reduces the overall space, but it...

    Rhino Rack - pioneer

Yeah I run the 84"x 49", here's a couple of pics, not the best to show you, but it sits nicely within the roof line.

RTH needed: 1 hour away from CT-Chicago road trip, AHC codes

unfortunately I'm no Paddo, but the ball weight will be key, if the trailer load is well spread you should be fine, however if it overloads the back of the Cruiser it may default to "Lo" setting. Try minmize the amount of weight over rear axle.

Wiring to the roof and rear bumper

I ran power up from under the hood, encased in loom conduit, and had it siliconed in under the trim alongside windscreen upto the roof and then onto roof rack, sits in very neatly, been there for years without any probs. With the HDMI cable, you should be able to run to bumper, going along...

    16s or 18s ...Thoughts?

I definitely wouldn't drive with 5psi unless I was getting out of a bog or really soft sand , any sharp turn and you'll roll the tire of the bead, pain in the butt to re-seat and clean it while on a beach.

    Which Rear Springs (again)?

really easy, I just measured the difference between where the rims sat in relation to the chassis or body then adjusted the panhard to the correct length. You also need to make sure your rear brake lines aren't under tension at full flex, mine where fine, you may have to get a brake line...

    Which Rear Springs (again)?

Hey champ, I run Ridepro ZC7589 (500kg to GVM), they're a heavy duty rear coil spring - it gave around a 70mm lift. I had to install an adjustable panhard rod to correct the diff center. This setup suits me as I tow each day for work, and it rides pretty well when not towing (not too stiff or...

    Bought a 2005 LC yesterday - I have a few newb questions

Looks great, will look even better with the Slee Blueberry, then the rear bar, slider steps, lift, roof rack, 3 inch exhaust, light bars, this forum has cost me a fortune, but money well spent on a reliable truck, you'll love it!

    Towing w/ Slee Rear Bumper??

Nice truck and boat. Yeah i tow a boat at around 4500 pounds all up, no probs on the rear bar, i have an adjustable heavy duty hitch so the boat trailer rides level, does rattle around a little due to not being a tight fit in receiver.
