For Sale  Montreal, Quebec. 1982 BJ42

I have decided to part with my 1982 BJ42. Truck is Canadian, let hand drive. Original 3B motor, 4 speed transmission, no power steering, and suspension was replaced by a PO to an OME kit that gives it a small lift. All mechanics are solid and very dependable. It is my daily driver from May...

    BJ42 fusible link replacements?

Problem mostly solved! Thanks Rudi, not only for sending me that wiring diagram, but for the above link. I actually stumbled on it last night, and it explained it all loud and clear. I'm checking part stores tomorrow for fusible link wire, or making my own following your instructions...

    BJ42 fusible link replacements?

Thanks to both of you. I had read that fusible link is always 4 gauges smaller than the circuit it is in. Makes sense. Would the light circuit in my truck be 12 gauge? Is that standard automotive gauge wire? I'll hit the part stores and ask for generic fusible link wire. Appreciate it!

    BJ42 fusible link replacements?

Hi All! I have a 1982 Canadian BJ42 which I'm really enjoying now that I found myself some rear doors and got them mounted ... Thanks to a really helpful guy in Toronto for that! My problem, however, is ... of course ... headlights. Turns out a PO hated the center tap so much that he took it...

    40 Series Snorkels for sale

Hi! Your work looks really nice; any available to ship to La Belle Province? I have a Canadian 1982 BJ42, left hand drive. Would want a right hand side snorkel (US passenger side), and a Topspin. If none available now, I'll wait for the next batch! If available, feel free to PM me the...

BJ42 Lower Rad Pipe Connector Question

Hey Aussie FJ40 ... I ordered it from Toyota Parts Direct online, out of Mississauga, Ontario. And thanks for the fan comments guys. It was not in the BJ when I bought it, although I do have it. The previous owner installs Diesel engines in Mercedes G wagons, and replaces the fans with...

BJ42 Lower Rad Pipe Connector Question

Thanks to both of you. I actually double-checked my part #'s, and the error is with the distributor I bought it from. It is for an FJ, but they have it listed as a BJ part# with the proper BJ picture. I'll try to exchange, but I don't think they have the proper one. As SnowPeak suggested ...

BJ42 Lower Rad Pipe Connector Question

Hi all, So I'm doing a full radiator/heater hose change on my 1982 Canadian BJ42 this spring. I ordered a new lower rad hose pipe connector (OEM 16577-61040) due to extensive rust on the original. Whereas the original had a flange to be bolted to the fan shroud, the new one has a heater hose...

long distance BJ42 buying and drive back

You may think this odd, but: I purchased a 82 BJ42 back in October, and my only hesitation with the deal was that I DIDN'T get to fly somewhere and drive it back! I thought that that would be a really fun mini-adventure. I only had to drive 100 km to get it home! Go for it; take a bunch of...

BJ42 Radiator and In-Line Heater Questions

Thanks lostmarbles. In our tractors at home we always use Diesel coolant, due to worry about "cavitation failure" due to vibration in a high compression engine - at least that's what we've always been told! And that weird pipe connector ... who knows! Maybe it's there to accommodate a...
