SOLD McLean, VA -- Bushing press tools for an FZJ80 and Harbor Freight 20 ton press

The place up in Oregon that went bankrupt, so I’m not much help. But I will say that I cannot imagine doing the job without drifts. The folks who do it with sockets, etc…. It’s tough enough with the right tools. But, once you get up and get going, it’s definitely worth the effort...

    Resonator Box Removal Question

If you are talking about 1734266010, which is the "hose #2, for air injection system," which I always thought of as the S-shaped hose off the air intake silencer, I definitely want it. I'll DM you.

    start up rattle?

It has been in the high single digits (Fahrenheit) for a few days, and I want to report that the smaller oil filter continues to eliminate essentially all the start-up rattle.

    Replacement 80 series sunroof seals

I'm even glad to pay in advance. I've done the inner tube trick -- helps, but not satisfactory. Thanks for this effort.

SOLD McLean, VA -- Bushing press tools for an FZJ80 and Harbor Freight 20 ton press

It's a package deal, since I want the press out of the garage. The press tools/drifts are the sizes for the FZJ80 bushings. I'm trying to help others on the same journey as me, so all that matters is, "If you're doing you're doing your FZJ80 bushings, these are the tools you need."

SOLD McLean, VA -- Bushing press tools for an FZJ80 and Harbor Freight 20 ton press

I've replaced all the bushings and U-joints on my '94 FZJ80, and won't do it again for a decade or more. So the 4 press tools and press are available for $100 total. The jack does weep a bit of oil but works like new. It's a good deal, and I can give 10 minutes of tips if you like when you...

Wits End Order Issues / Joey Romero

I'm not hurting as badly as those of you awaiting turbo orders. I'm in for only a bushing press kit for $300 (including shipping). My frustration is increased because I decided to do all the bushings and do it right. So I bought all the bushings and hardware and the Harbor Freight 20-ton...

Wits End Order Issues / Joey Romero

I'm slow to criticize, but I am now also at my wits end. I too have an order "Awaiting fulfillment" (as the order page says). E-mails to Joey using the contact page and to a gmail account others say is his have gone unanswered. Any word from Joey would be helpful: will the order ever be...

    start up rattle?

Despite being assured the start-up rattle causes no harm, I set out to understand what causes it and detemine how to get rid of it. It took a while and I won’t bother you with all the things I tried — especially since the solution is pretty simple (at least in the case of my truck, and it may...

FJ80, FZJ80, LX450, LX470 Front seat sagging (loose) netting pocket repair

I want to give a little shout out to these replacement seat back pockets from Plaid Wagon. I came across them on social media and don't think I've seen a mention on IH8MUD. I've previously done a variety of fixes on my seat back pockets, but they still weren't perfect. They looked old and...

    start up rattle?

Dan, my daughter and I spent the last year and a half rebuilding a '94 FZJ80. Ih8mud, and you in particular, have been priceless sources of advice along the way. Today, she started the truck, and I thought to ponder the start-up rattle that sounded a bit different from outside the truck than...

Long Crank Before Starting When Warm

For those struggling with the long crank when warm issue, I am posting simply to share the conclusion of my long search. In my particular case (’94 FZJ80), I worked through the entire fuel system (except for replacing the injectors — that was the very last thing on my list given the complexity...

Wanted DC/MD/VA 80 Series OEM alloy wheels

I am building/assembling a mechanically sound truck but have no intention of every fixing the really cheap paint job a PO gave it. So, I want wheels that are round and can be balanced. If "James" is 804yota and we can coordinate when he wants to pull his tires, then this sounds like a great...

Wanted DC/MD/VA 80 Series OEM alloy wheels

I am looking for 4 or 5 (preferably) OEM 80 series wheels in the DC/MD/VA area. It's a bit funny to give the details on mud, since you all know them, but I'm looking for the 5-spoke, 16X8, 139.7 mm alloy wheels. Just trying to get my truck back to a bit closer to original.
