There is no rust. I've never had anything fixed on the transmission or anything. I changed the waterpump, tensioner, and timing belt myself.
No leaks that I know of. When I first purchased it I tightened the valve cover bolts because oil was seeping, it fixed it.

That's what has me questioning so much...it ran fine when it was parked...a full tooth off.
The new belt has the marks on it.
I guess the general consensus is to ignore marking the current belt like all the write ups show and just line up all the timing marks on the new belt?
