Thanks Juan, Yes, I just changed a couple synchros, the two front bearings and gears. Still getting the whine and there is a click/clunk when releasing the clutch after shifting to gears two and three. Oil was changed with the gear swap to 140 weight.

Hi All. I've got a 2006 Troopy with a 1Fz-FE. With 600k km, my gear has been whining, and I've been looking for a replacement. I saw a thread on someone replacing the the 1HZ gearbox with the gearbox from an 80 series. Is that possible with the 1FZ as well? What modifications are required?

How 'bout this? 5$ teapot mod. Catches the oil real well! I just punched a hole in the lid for the air to vent through. No more mess. Just empty the pot every now and then. Beats ordering a 200$ system from the other side of the world.
