    Rigs without carpet

after knocking o can of beer inside my cruiser i learned two things: 1, beers rest nicely and safely on the bumper, down beside the corner of the open tailgate; 2, i like it a lot better with the rear carpet, which i removed to get all cleaned, removed. You reveal two tie-downs back there ...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

How did you attach your trasharoo; seems very simple, wrapped around the tail gate, don't know why more of us without the spare carrier aren't thinking like this. Would like to see how u did it, thx

    Remembrance day tugwell run!

Was the gate on Tugwell Main open? or was Butler Main the way that is accessible? - it looks pretty tight for an 80 series..

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

finally got five 255/85/16 mounted and had the guys throw in the 5oz packets of CounterAct balancing system, in each tire; made and developed in Southern Ontario. @landtoy80 I'll report, that the balancing is working amazing; it's even removed some of my intermittent brake wobble, from worn...

OK, FZ FE. can we try running on fuel vapor?

i know. and i know it sounds crazy, but my thoughts were, if there was an engine to test these vapor ideas on (link provided) - i think this would be one good choice.. and Tom Ogle inventor/mechanic died in '81 so he never lived to see this great machine. also, new engines are still not...

    FZJ80 Brake and Rotor Replacement

i've read that these transmissions are so solid (especially the a440f); they even put them into commercial vehicles, like busses, IRRC. I'm not worried about the transmission, so long as i'm not down shifting into 1st at any speed.

    FZJ80 Brake and Rotor Replacement

I'll share my city driving style, which i think will help make your brakes last much, much longer ... let me know what you all think. one thing i've come to notice over the year owning my 80, is that the low end torque is significant, even at idle, and thus while applying the brakes, in fact...

OK, FZ FE. can we try running on fuel vapor?

Hi Guys, wouldn't it be nice. In case you have been living under a rock, 'hillbilly science' has shown (on youtube) that cars can run on fuel vapor alone; or reap increased MPG, with the injectors working. In terms of the 1FZ-FE, some areas possibly to explore, or tap vapour into, in my...

'door open' light on dash, when turning right

so, for the past month I've been on the road, and an odd gremlin has popped up: The 'door ajar' light has illuminated, with all doors definitely shut, while driving - the odd thing: first it was only intermittently on sharp right turns; now it flickers more and may even stay on, unless im...

    TLC on UsedVictoria thread... (ongoing)

I emailed them, just thought I'd ask if they wanted to trade for an 80.. Would u guys do that? - I don't know if I would want to trade.. I really like the cloth interior in mine and lots about mine, and 100's seem to get about the same gas mileage.. . I thought they were part time 2 wheel drive/...

Road trip Tires: 265 vs 255

Well, after a 400 mile trip; on one tank :flipoff2: I'm super glad I kept the 265's hwy tires on. It was wet, and I'd be scared to have been hydro planing all over. .. ... Now I realize that MT tires will need grooving and siping before any road trip. It's been a drought here, and boy did it...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

in preparation for the weekend i paid a small shop 58$ to just get rid of the rusted-on 20 y.o. rear diff fill-plug; at least the dealer only charged $3 for a crush washer and $9 for a new diff plug... - :censor:, can now really see how paying 1,300$ after a trade-in was a steal! ok...
