I welded an extension on the cylinder pawl but it does not secure the door closed,, Is the pawl suppose to behind the front tab or the rear tab. Is the rubber necessary for anything oyher than a cushion for the door ?

The lock tab does not contact the upper tab I have had this in every configuration . It was ok before i took it apart for paint. Whats wrong/

I am installing a new manifold gasket after manifold machining Also new bolts. Does any surface need a sealant? If yes what type? Do bolts need a sealant? Any other tips. Thanks

Mine is a rusty mess. I need the spring strip that is held by a single screw. The wire screw is so rusty I will likely have to drill it out.. Any help appreciated.

Took my 77 steering wheel off today. The contacts for the horn are badly corroded. Is there a source for new contacts for the strip that is screwed in ?

Brian = You are right. The lip that I thought was part of the pipe was actually a piece of the old grommet. Thanks everyone . You would not believe how much time ive spent on this 5 minute job.

Tried everything Here is a picture of the pipe and OEM grommet. I am convinced that everything is 50 yo origina;

The problem is not the PCV fitting in the grommet but the grommet fitting into the pipe . I have used plenty of lube The part no for the OEM grommet is 90480=18180 from Toyota Direct

Almost embarrassed to post this but i have bought three PCV grommets and cant get ant to seat into the pipe. The last was an OEM grommet for 2F engines. It will NOT seat into the pipe. The OEM grommet has a cone shaped bottom and if i feel...

Might try the Tundra seat cushion. Any suggestions for the back?
