Picked this up over the weekend and thought you guys might be interested in some pics. Been stressing over it for a couple of months while i got the dollars together, so is nice to finally have it home:D

vin: fj45v 27338
engine: f228260
original color: Grey

Edit: Bit more info. Has 98721 miles. engine was reconditioned at approx 69000 miles due wrong oil being used. last rego 1999 was driven regularly until then
Purchased new by forestry department of Tasmania. Then sold to a farmer in the East Tamar Valley and then sold in 1975 to the gentleman i purchased it from on Saturday.
He was a bit sad to see it go. He had been hanging onto it hoping one of his sons would restore it. but they showed no interest, so it was decided to sell it to a good home

The way it looked when i first layed eyes on it

Few other bits and pieces that came with it

As best as i can tell it is missing the original wiper switch and knob, hubcaps, left hand prop for upper tail gate. spare wheel bracket, door mirror and to of the surrounds that go on the inside door handles.
plans are to give a wash and a tidy and then put it into storage until i finish the other two cruisers im working on and then do a frame off resto. it has quite a bit of rust in the inner roof and a bit in the bottom rear corners of the quarter panels but is other wise pretty solid with good floors, doors and sill panels

Enjoy
Steve :)

A nice survivor you have there, it looks really solid. Great find!!!

Beautiful! How far are you from Hobart? I'd love to see your growing collection one day.

That is one sweet wagon. It looks to be in really good condition. Congratulations.
Thanx

You better go give that old man a ride when you have it all finished up!

Great looking truck!

Thanx. Yeah i fully intend to keep him up to date with it's progress and have told him he is welcome to come see it any time he likes

Thanx Josh. It's about three and a half / four hours drive to my place from Hobart. It's not much of a collection though. Iv'e got two rusty cruisers and two in pieces And one stacked full of parts that i call the shed cruiser. But your welcome anytime
Steve

Nice find Dteve, I bet you kept it quiet until ti was in your yard. I know of one that is laying near here . Cheers Ian.

Thanx mate. my friends and family were sick of hearing about it by the time i got it., but yes i did keep it pretty quiet.
So are you going to rescue the one you know of. Is it complete? most of the other ones i've seen have either been stuffed, modified, had a heap of parts missing or all of the above.
Would be interesting to know how many came to Australia and how many are left. Don't think it would be to many.

Steve

The one near here is very very rusty. I have got a few parts off it for my fj25. It would be interesting to know how maney came to aus. Ian.

Shame the one near is to far gone Ian. If it's being wrecked i'd be interested in any of the parts that i said were missing from mine in my original post.

nice mate

Cheers mate Thanx. Never seen a 25 anywhere. I wish i had, because then i would have one of them parked here as well ;)

Hey Steve, glad this has gone to a good home. I only wish I had your skills (and time!) to put into this. I'm keeping the next one for myself though LOL. I have the boys at work on the lookout!

Thanx Mark. I owe you one. Good luck with your search, your boys are good spotters :D

Thanx mate. I have a video of it running when i find the cord for the bloody camera i will post it up.

:cool:Cool Nice score and good story. Shame it's left our shores but at least it's in good hands. And it makes mine that little bit rarer here to i guess :D

Thanks for your nice comments Steve. Yours looks to be in much better shape. Nice V for sure!
But hey, last post 6 years ago? Any updates? Or it it still parked where you left it in 2010?
