Let me start this off by saying thanks for all of the help from other Mudder's.

When i was growing up my old man had a 1975 fj40 that we would drive most of the winter up in Calgary AB. While down here at Bragg NC i wanted one but never could find a good one so i went to the other side and got a CJ-5. That lasted for 3 different rollovers and about 3 different engines, last one being a AMC 401 BB. I actually made money when i sold the darn thing. The place i was working PT at had a few cruiser's and one really caught my eye. It was a 75 fj40 that had no rust at all but the engine was locked up. 1000.00 dollars later it was mine, and the madness began.

Jump forward a few years and a different country or 10 and i seen / drove my first fj45 in person. I knew at that time i had to have one some day. So here i am in different countries looking for a 45 i could bring back home. I had one older man in Afghanistan that i almost had talked into selling me his, but then the fun would of came trying to get it back here legally. So i started looking for one here in the States that did not cost more than my paycheck for a few months working for Uncle Sam. I finally found one that looked decent right as i was getting ready to retire. It was in Neb so that meant as soon as i signed out on leave i was making a road trip. That was a rough 5 days. 2 days there and 2 days back with 1 day looking around Neb, and SD. Looked like a really nice place to retire to one day.

I started working on it as soon as i got back here to NC. I was not going to go that far into it but the farther i went the more i seen needed to be done.

I have not really done too much more on it other than drive it. Right now i am waiting for my doors / soft top from Eshan to arrive and will have more to do soon to put it all on.

Sorry for the long winded part, but i figure i would set the story a bit. Also i am a day early, but have today off of work.

Now i think i have this linking thing right. Hopefully it works.:cheers:

VERY NICE!!!

Just scrolled through your build thread - I'll read through it when I start my LWB rebuild in the next couple of months. Well done:beer:

Darin,
Nice looking truck. I remember that being for sale a few years back in Eastern Colorado. I thought about buying it as I was not too far away. Looks like you have put a lot of work into it. Nice job.

Also, that is a nice looking headache rack you got there. Glad it worked out for you.;)

Man, not too many comments / questions.

Not even any about the beard i had am working on again.

Once my soft top / doors come from Eshan i will be putting that and a bunch of other parts i have laying around on.

very nice

Love the truck, watched your build from the beginning. Cant wait to see it with a soft top

I also can not wait. Am thinking hard about buying the top for the bed that Eshan also makes. Bot to see the other one on my truck first. Hopefully got shipped today.

I am seriously contemplating it. I am actually off that weekend. But then i would not be able to start my new project i got from R.K.

Darin,

What year is your truck? Looking at the front sheet metal it appears 60's but the tail gate and tail lights look later model. Nice job!!

It is a 64 model. But when i got it , it did not have a tailgate or the rear valance piece that it mounts to and the lights go on. I got the tailgate from Paul on here and i just found it easier to go with the later model lights on my budget.

Thanks for looking, and the comments.

Darin,

Who is the maker/manufacturer of your headache rack? I would like the contact info.

Your build motivates me to see my 45 project through to completion, I keep looking at my pile of parts and I tell myself, someday, someday.......

It is from Proffitts / Grease cruiser on here. I am very happy with it. Built very strong and functional.

Thanks KT40
