so i am installing a turbo onto a 89 BJ70 rag top and came across an interesting tidbit that i thought i would share.
with a tiny bit of massaging you can install a 13BT manifold onto B, 2B, 3B inline pump but as soon as you go to the 3b ii then you have a new beast...
the exhaust manifold on a 3b ii is like a short header system, about 6" long runners. and another difference is that the 3Bii manifiold has 10 bolts where as all the others have the normal 8 bolts.
to over come this set back i built a one off adapter for between the 13BT manifold and the head.
this is what it finished up as:
as you can see there are some very close clearences between the 2 bolt patterns. also there are some castings int he block that you must take into consideration.
the fit is very nice and the finished product will allow for the use of all the 13BT manifold and turbo for a ultra clean fit.
i will post pics if anyone wants them of the completed setup next week.
