I am considering selling my custom built tent trailer. It has done really well and followed several different trucks on some pretty awesome trips here in Oregon. I had a friend who has welding and fabrication shop help me transform a little jeep trailer into a really nice rtt trailer set up. It was purpase built to follow behind an FJ40. Its got 33x10.5 r15 tires on factory FJ40 wheels. The axle is built to the exact width of the 40. The rack the tent is mounted to slides up and down with the help of pneumatic cylinders. That way the center of gravity is low while traveling but can be taller while camping with the tent annex attached or the 270 awning deployed. The back I just left as an open area so I could bring home some fire wood from trips if I wanted. Dont know the exact weight, my tired 2f in my 40 can tow it on flat ground at 60 mph pretty easily. Just takes a mile to get up to speed.
Details:
Leaf spring axle
AGM battery
12v plugs on back and inside
On board battery charger
17 gallon water tank
Joolca nomad pump and water heater
2 gallon propane tank
Propane Quick connections on both sides of trailer
270 awning
CVT 6'X8' RTT with annex
Load bars for carrying kayaks or whatever
5 gallon fuel or water container mounts on each side
This is a great trailer and I hesitate to sell it, but I'm thinking of moving to a different style of camping. If you're interested, I can get you more pictures or have phone call about it.
