I have been looking for a 2nd generation Tacoma Access to buy for many months now. Not just any Access, mind you, but one that looks like this one I have owned since purchasing in November 2007 (2008 model)
It has aged very well in 18+ years, only has a little under 50K miles.
So what’s wrong with it?
Two things:
1) It’s an automatic
2) It’s a 2WD
Last year I bought an 08 FJ Cruiser 6 speed manual Trail Teams with 4WD, and since then I find myself wishing this Tacoma also had those two features.
Here’s my problem: I’ve searched Mud Classifieds, TacomaWorld Classifieds, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace and even Ebay. Got close a few times, but haven’t been able find my unicorn.
So this is my Want to Buy ad:
2008 to 2015 Tacoma Access Cab

V6
4WD
6 spd MANUAL transmission
Prefer a Southwest rig, but only because I don’t want one with rust issues
50K miles would be great, but I’m a realist so…
If you have such a rig, and your left hip, knee or ankle are sucking the joy of manual shifting, this may be your lucky day!
