Howdy,
I’m located in Texas and am actively looking to buy a clean, solid, genuine US-market FJ40 Land Cruiser. I am a serious cash buyer with a maximum budget of $30,000.
My absolute number one priority is a rust-free frame and body tub with original factory sheet metal. I am intentionally avoiding international imports or trucks with a history of overseas cosmetic restoration/Bondo.

Because this will be used as a comfortable, pavement-only street cruiser, I am looking for a vehicle that has already been thoughtfully modified for highway use and warm weather. I am specifically hunting for:
- Drivetrain: A well-executed Chevy V8 conversion paired with a modern automatic overdrive transmission (e.g., 700R4 or 4L60E) that can handle a sustained 65 mph cruising speed under 2,000 RPM.
- Comfort: Must have a functioning, modern aftermarket A/C system that blows ice-cold to handle the Texas heat.
- Stance: Set up for the street on skinny 31" or 33" tires ("pizza cutters") with a mild lift or stock-height suspension. No heavy off-road armor or aggressive mud tires needed. I can always make the switch myself so skinny tires isn’t a requirement.
- Condition: Looking for a turn-key, mechanically sorted driver. Faded factory paint, older restorations, or cosmetic patina are completely welcome—as long as the underlying steel and frame are solid and rust-free.
