Sold new on 9/30/98 out of Toyota Town in Ventura County, CA to Vandy's Transportation Inc. for $65,228.80 — fully loaded from the factory with the leather trim package, third-row seat package, power moonroof, independent rear climate control, wood dash, rear diff lock, and the convenience package (roof rack, running boards, tow hitch, wind deflector).
Carfax shows three owners before the current chapter: a corporate owner in California (1998–2007), a long-term personal owner across California and South Carolina (2007–2022, just 1,738 mi/year — babied), and a South Carolina owner (2022–2023) who put together a thick stack of dealer service records. No accidents, no structural damage, no airbag deployments, clean title throughout.
From there the truck was bought by an older gentleman in Oregon (who sourced it out of South Carolina), and then passed to its current owner — a Nike executive — who commissioned the Land Cruiser Society Stage 1 build described below.
The truck has since gone through a modest OEM+ build — roughly $8k in parts and labor — on top of continued service at local Portland shops (Beaverton Toyota, Japanese Auto Repair).
