For sale 60-series 1989 HJ61 12HT 5sp

For sale a well cared for HJ61 which comes with the factory 12HT turbo diesel with approximately 398k km on it. For those who aren’t up on the various 60 series, 61’s are all well equipped including:

• Air conditioning
• Front and rear heaters
• Tilt steering

• Power mirrors
• Power antenna

This one also has:

• 5 speed H55F gearbox
• PTO winch with 10mm synthetic rope
• Sahara high top roof

Accessories/modifications include:

• G-turbo ‘Grunter’ upgraded turbo larger 75mm (3”) exhaust system. This gives a bit more power and allows lower EGT’s when under load. Turbo was installed about 30k km ago.
• Madman EMS1 to measure EGT, boost pressure, engine temperature, coolant level, volts, roll/pitch etc. with settable alarms.
• ARB bullbar that has modified to suit the factory PTO winch
• ARB air lockers front and rear
• ABB High output compressor with tire inflation kit.
• Old Man Emu springs and shocks
• Man-A-Fre u-bolt flip kit on both front and rear axles
• Safari Snorkel with both the ram head and a Donaldson cyclonic pre-filter head
• Rare 190 litre Opposite Lock fuel tank

We have owned this Cruiser for the past 17 years and taken good care of it. I have used synthetic oils almost exclusively during that time and serviced it based on a conservitive schedule. The gearbox / transfer case were rebuilt approximately 25k km ago with a new heavy duty clutch installed at that time. Body work was done less than 10 years ago and 18,000km ago. All that being said it is 38 years old and has 398,000km on it so it not perfect.

The truck has been sitting in storage since 2021 while we built another Land Cruiser for an overseas trip. We kept it in case the new Cruiser was not ready in time and just haven’t got around to selling it since we got back. The truck will need a complete service and checking over. All fluids should be changed, suspension greased, etc. and it will need new tires as the BFG’s on it are aged out and well worn. There is no radio/stereo as we took it out to put in our new Cruiser. Once that is done it should be able to take you wherever you want to go.
