Finally got the shipment in today! I got an IPOR bumper, spare swingout and integrated hitch.

There was only one problem... there was a whole lot of bumper... and only one of me!

But I had a secret weapon... a 10 ton crane... and a sweet scissor lift! Made the installation pretty simple. I had to cut out a spot in the crossmember to allow the hitch to go thru - and apparently my bumper is somewhat warped, so some of the bolts didn't line up properly. I'm going to have to use a little creative intgeinity to get it fully bolted up.

Took about two hours to get the whole thing togther and the crossmember cut up. Then it was on to tackle the skid plate!

DAMN that thing is heavy...

And THICK... (that's what she said!)

That project took another hour... putting that thing on without help is not recommended! I have to re-weld a tab on my sliders to make it work as well, but that's a small price to pay for that skid plate...

Some quick shots...

She sits level now!

I still have some adjusting to do on the tire, but otherwise I'm happy.

This IPOR bumper is very well made. Attention to detail is top-notch... seems like they've done this a time or two! I also got the other swingout post, although I haven't decided what I'm going to do with that.

GSMTR aught to be that much more fun this year!

Nice, congrats! Props to getting it done yourself. Nice rig too, like how it sits..

Thanks - yeah I have to figure out what I'm going to do there - there's enough space on the plate that I should be able to make a bracket to get it "over" more and make it legal.

I really like how tucked your rear is now carter.:flipoff2::flipoff2:

Yeah, I know you love watching my ... oh wait a minute...

Getting it done by myself would have been impossible without mechanical assistance :) The small yellow cart is a scissor lift, and it was perfect - I used a couple of long metal beams to fully support the bumper, and it worked great. I actually just used the crane to get it out of the box and provide emergency support if it fell off while I was trying to get it on.

The skid plate was actually harder to do solo.

Wow, your Cruiser is awesome! Seems likemthe tire sticks out a bit further on this bumper than some of the others?

Yes it does - it's adjustable, but that's where it stopped last night and I was too tired to fix it :) I'll take care of that and push it in more until it's where it needs to be.

It's a good thing to have them adjustable so it can accommodate different size tires.

Nice looking rig and bumper orlando.....

for a temporary fix you can take the tag out and mount it with one screw, i.e. the right side screw in the left hole of the plate will push you over just outside the profile of the tire. Now however the man can bust your chops for not being properly lit.

solo is possible, ask how I know how, but that crane and lift look like the smart mans option ;)

Niiice bumper, I have the same one. I also used a crane/lift to put mine on (my 12 year old son). He loved helping with the project, especially since he knows he will be driving it this summer.

Looks awesome!

Damnit!

I just realized the spare now covers up my ih8mud sticker!!!

Sounds like Lance will need to do a redesign to make sure the Ih8mud sticker stays visible:)

I do this on my IPOR rear and haven't been hassled. I don't know if they'd hassle you for it being lit but in VA you need to have all plates secured by 2 bolts. I figure if the fuzz does come calling I'll just fix it then before the court date, if in fact he gives me a ticket.

Two things ...

One, when I was putting the bumper on, I couldn't get all the bolts to line up. It seemed to be proud right around the hitch point. Not having the will or desire to take the whole thing off again, I got all but two of the bolts in and called it a night.

Since talking it over, I realized that this was my own fault. Last year at GSMTR, I high-centered myself on a set of huge tires. A friend hooked up to my pintile hitch and pulled me off. I was also pulled out of a mud hole by that same hitch... so I'm sure it crowned out that part of the crossmember. So I'll have to take the bumper off next week and bang on it with a BFH to fix it.

Second - concerning the license plate - I'm going to take a small strip of stainless or aluminum and drill/thread it to allow the plate to offset. Of course this doesn't fix the lighting issue... but the way I figure it, cops have spotlights. HAH!

The tire mount looks like it sits way left and i am worried about it covering the lights. Just ordered mine the other day. Did'nt order the tire rack yet though, but since I live near them, we can get it fit right. I think you said you were going to make some adjustments so I was wondering how it is sitting now or if it changed at all.
