After the trail removed one of my flares, I realized how much I liked the look of the 80 without flares. Following some thought and debate with the wife, I went ahead and removed the rest of the flares. After reading thread after thread here I decided to go with Durabak. In the end I couldn't be happier. It was easy to order, the instructions were easy to follow and it went on so easy (I used the supplied rollers). The end result look better than I had hoped for. In fact, it looks better than the rest of my paint. As everyone else points out, the prep work is more involved than application. I only used two coats and all of my tape covering the holes are invisible.
I also ordered some sliders from Adam at 4xInnovations. I rust proofed and applied two coats of black glossy Krylon. I think I will add some Durabak to the outer rail. Dealing with Adam was easy and the instructions were spot on. Fitment was almost perfect. One hole for the exhaust hanger was drilled a little off, but in the end I expect it will be fine.
While all of this was going on I removed my aftermarket alarm system and redid the LEDs on the HVAC control.
