Well, it only took us two years of on and off work, ok, more off then on to get this swap done. It is on the road and driving and I like it. Still have some minor issues to resolve, but so far it seems to be working pretty good.

We managed to do this with no frame alterations and as close to a direct bolt in as possible. It bolts to the factory 80 motor mounts on the frame, uses a custom belly plate / cross member for the transmission. Couples to the stock radiator with a custom fan shroud. Some wiring, custom exhaust and wolla, you are done.

Setup is 4.7 iForce v8, 100 series transmission and transfer case. Essentially a complete 100 series setup into an 80.

We are working to make all hard parts needed for the swap as a kit.

Christo this is AWESOME!

Christo....once again wowing the crowd! Great work and execution!

Christo - That is awesome! I am looking forward to hearing how it does long term. Which 100 transmission did you use? (year?)

Oh my!

That Christo Slee is a beautiful man!

Nice job! It looks like you are working on some Tacoma ground effects in the background.

i want. with 5.7.

...and a TRD Supercharger

"Toyota Racing Development Eaton's Twin Vortices Series Roots-type supercharger kit for the Tundra and Sequoia bumps power to 504 hp and 550 ft-lbf of torque."

As usual, nice work Christo but my wife and my wallet hate you.

Awesome.

I haven't even picked up an 80 yet, but sign me up. What's the timeline on the kit? Months, years?

Nice job! Can't wait to see details later on

Nicely done.. hows the mpg compare to I6 4.5L, or pretty much the same?

Not enough miles yet, but not expecting miracles.

How tough was the wiring?

How long is a piece of string? Not 1  for sure. Takes knowing these drive trains, Toy wiring harnesses to figure this all out.

Which 100 transmission did you use? (year?)

1998-2002 drivetrain. This one specific is a 1999

This could be read so many different ways :hillbilly:

Not happening in a 80. sorry. Everything is on the wrong side.

In the pipeline. Some parts are already made, some are just prototypes with drawings made.

We are sorting out the details. If we offer this as a shop job, we want to be able to do this in a week, otherwise the cost for labor is out the window and it is not feasible.

well i guess that answers the question i just posted about what do do next? a blower/HG or bumper, meats and gears ;)

This conversion has always been on my 80's Bucket List. Can't wait until the kit is available.

Do you have a list of items which need to be sourced that will not be included in the future "kit"? Engine, Trans (4 or 5 speed), etc?
