Finally! :o

Replaced the horrible stock horns the 80 came with. We all know how sh!tty they sound right?

Went to the local wreckers, and asked to rummage through their selection of horns. Most were newer, and I was hoping for an older Caddy or something. I finally settled on a a pair of 2-wire horns that I thought might show the most promise considering the selection...

2002 Chrysler 300M

I just wired up a new fused circuit that used the stock horn wiring to trigger a relay that sends juice directly to the new horns.

Jeezbus!

RICH, WARM ..... LOUD

Not sure what an air horn sounds like, but next to stock this seems to be a step in that direction.

If you haven't change your horn, DO IT .. you'll love it. Plus it may be a safety feature you're overlooking. :steer:

Peace,

TY

PS: If anyone is interested maybe I can figure out how to post an audio file. I guess I could what .. make a movie with the camera, and then strip out the audio? Delete the video? Pics of the install on demand as well .. ain't rocket science, but you'll see placement - which is slightly lower than stock.

just post ur video to youtube. then post the link.

I'm going to work on that this week. Maybe find some unsuspecting fool that will be willing to .. 'hear that wierd engine noise?? Lean a lil closer....:D"

:lol::lol::lol: nice....

I was hoping for an older Caddy or something.

Where the heck have you been dude?!
Did you get married or something?

I tried the Caddy horns and was not impressed. Mid-60's vintage. I guess they got water in them or something but they were not very good though there were 3 of them in a huge bracket thing-a-ma-bob. Finally went with the Freeway Blaster horns by FIAAM. Hi & Lo tones which sound with authority and were fairly cheap. Not like Snake's but they'll get someone's attention at a light.

Unlike Snake's indeed ...:eek::eek:

Good for a hoot though :grinpimp:

Life's good Beo!

I did some Caddy horns in mine from a 69 caddy, they are 4 note, one of the horns is a trumpet, now when I honk people look all around except at me haha

I had to do a relay on them though, because they drew so much current, just hooking them up directly, they were weak.

:p hehe.:popcorn:

Update .. :p

I decoded I'd tap into the Viper alarm to feed it's horn's positive into my 300M relays trigger. Of course now I get a nice horn when arm/disarm, but as a strange side 'bonus'? when I honk the horn in traffic my new relay circuit ends up sending the positive on to the Viper circuit and I get an accompanying yelp.

Christ, now my 80 sounds like I'm at work ..

Should have seen the face on the old guy that I had to honk at so I could get into a gas station before getting hit. ( he was hovering halfway up the drive). My honk ended up a half honk/half yelp...He finished gasing up and just starred at the 80 thinking 'that doesn't look like any cop car I've ever seen..'. That was the first time I realized it was yelping with the horn .. too funny.
