here are a few pics. i'll give my impressions after i test them out a bit
they are bright, it's a clean light.

3500 lumens, 4 amp draw, 30yr continuous bulb life (dimensions 12"x3"x3") avail up to 42" length

suppossedly the 12" I have equals a 300w halogen

Holy marry mother of God, I want one! A few of those or a long one would be killer on a roof rack. How well does it work at night compared to your brights?

I just googled it and this place has the 12 inch for $171
Off Road Warehouse

This guy already roof rack mounted his to a jeep Untitled 1

wow - 500 bones?

I would love a set of these for my boat, but at $500 a clip, I believe I'll have to pass (or at least wait for a price drop.)

I think you might have done your math wrong. Base model is the 6" for $215.99 and add another $171 for the 12" = $386.99

I stand corrected... didnt notice that part on the right hand side. makes better sense now.

I see that they're bright, but what are their light pattern?:D (Fog, driving, or spot?:hillbilly:)

Are they designed to light up something immegiately in front of you or can it throw out enough light to replace my Light Force 240's and Hella 4000's?

In any case, it looks pretty cool!

BTW, if I got it and put it on the bumper, I would put the 3M clear protective film thingy to prevent it from getting damaged from rocks.

I Want That!

This is the Vision X LED light bar that Larry Gipson used on his KOH Tacoma build. 22", 7200 Lumens. They come in 6"-42" lengths, $279-1675. Worked well enough for 60mph through the desert whoops at the Hammers.

Do you have any idea of how many candles and a box of matches you can get for $386.99 :grinpimp:

I will wait until price goes down as happened with plasma and LCD TV´s !!!!!!

what is not apparent from the pics is that it is a all metal housing. the back is finned and acts as a heatsink. it is very solid construction, sealed and of course waterproof.

you can make mounts or they have tube clamps avail. the mounts that come w/ it have rubber bases for shock but it is a solid metal mount.

the spread is awesome in the close range. nice even light that my lightforces can't compare to. instead of one bright reflector, think of 24 reflectors shining- it creates an even spread.
i have to check throw but it's pretty darn bright.

The 12" is what I thought would be the min. to justify upgrading from my LF170s, skipping HID's and getting LED's.
If money was not an issue, i'd get the 22" center and 2 12" on the sides (just for the bling factor :) )

LED's, while extremely bright, even painful to look at still do not provide illumination that carries very far. I have seen these lights before on race trucks and they are designed to provide a very thorough coverage pattern for the area right in front of the vehicle.
We are now starting to experiment with some LED "modules" that contain 4 and 6 LED's that are in excess of 1000 lumens. Some day I will see how they would work as a replacement dome light.

the small one would make one hell of a back-up light!

On their site they show small comparison pics between the high beams, their HID's, and the largest/longest LED unit they've got.

The throw seems at least as far as the HID's and a bit wider range as well.

I guess the benefits of these LED's are that they're:

-super bright
-low profile/versatile
-uber durable
-waterproof
-lasts as long as you own your vehicle (and beyond)

That's pretty nice, but wish that they used even less power.:hillbilly:

Don't forget the advantage of low amperage. I put a set of hella 700ff with 100 watt IPF bulbs in them on the bumper and measured total current draw for all lights (stock high and low plus hellas) at 28 amps !!

Does anyone know what kind of LEDs they are using for this? Also I think they would be great if you had them pointing down from a roof rack during a camping trip.
