2. Sometimes the IAC looks like stuck and my rpm goes down to 500 rpm or so .. just to confirm this this it's and how to pull out the bottom screw ? ( very tight BTW )

All comments are welcome ..

cheers,

David

WAIT..don't do anything

David don't mess with the TPS. Your pics show a dirty PCV valve (grease coming out of the grommet area. Go buy a new PCV valve, grommet and hose.
Your expriencing a low idle like i was for several years. Replace all that I mentioned... about $20.00 total) and this may fix the problem. (Do a search for "low idle fixed)..I posted that thread last week.

Thanks Airlaird ..

You mean the sensor pointin my screw driver it's the TPS .. ? ( damn ! ) where is the IAC . ?

What's the mean of PCV valvle ( yeap I remember read your thread .. gotta re -read again ) I can clean the hose .?

thanks for your comments ..

Try this:

YES...that's the IAC. Your screwdriver is pointing to it.. Take that out...and there are 2 screws. CLEAN thoroughly and replace.
IF that does not cure your problem. It may be your PCV valve. Your pic shows
oil around the base of the PCV valve (on top of your valve cover). I would replace that AND the hose that goes to it...also the little black grommet.
You see, the PCV valve gets crud and oil in it and the little spring goes bad after a while...replace it and see how it goes. EVERYTHING costs about 20.00 bucks.

Thanks dude .. I will check all again this weekend .. only one more question did you know a technique to pull out the botton screw on the IAC . ? it's holly tight

We spoke of this issue as well in the posting of this stuff.......It is REAL TOUGH to get it off. I used a Vise grip to get the bottom screw off. Good luck..and don't strip the screw!! Also, Do a search for IAC cleaning..I posted pics of where to clean.

Sometimes the rubber intake pipe between the air filter box and inlet manifold developes a crack or 2 in it causing a vacuum leak and low idle.

Take it off and have agood look for damage especially in between the ribs as thats where the holes appear most often.

Keep us posted.

I was reading plenty of the IAC and PCV stuff yesterday at home ..

I have some question coz my english can't help me more maybe someone can help with some pics and foolish proof explanations ..

In the FAQ RavenTai talk about PCV Hose #1 and #2 I will upload a pic ..

Maybe this pic help ..

which it's the grommet . ? ( I'm not clear in the part ) I notice it's important not drop the " grommet " into the valve cover ..

The PCV hose is the dirty one that goes into the head. (Where it says "24 VALVE"). You have it circled. Pull the dirty clamp off at the bottom.....you'll see the PCV Valve. Pull it out and replace it.....and the hose. The IAC screw may need a VISE grip tool tool to get it out. OR, get a dremel and grind a groove in it and use a flathead screwdriver.

You should be able to get the IAC screw off using a screwdriver. But be sure you're using the right sized screwdriver. If a #3 phillips fits, use it, but otherwise use a #2 (I can't remember which size, but using too small a screwdriver will not give you a good grip on it).

If you can't remove it with the screwdriver, you can try a bolt-out:

I'd try not to grind the head...if it's seized on, removing too much metal might cause part of the head to shear off.

Just looked again at your picture at the top of the thread. Your screwdriver is at a bad angle to get a good grip on that screw which is probably why you can't get it to bite enough. Suggest you get a screwdriver that you can reach the screw with head-on, or try a 1/4" socket set with extension and a phillips head bit.

Thanks guys ..

Does I need to take some special care to get the PCV off . ?

IMOP the space for vise grip

Its pretty tight at bottom .. ( I use one with the top one ) Thought a longer philips screw driver coul be an option ..

This would work as well

Other question fellas .. if someone have the part number for the PCV valvle and the hose .. ( if are any other part involved the part numbers are also highly apreciated . )

I hesitate to type this, because I am new to the mechanic stuff, but it seems to me that what he has circled is different than the US pcv valve and grommet, which would be on the other side of the engine. It appears that he has a different type of set-up. What he has circled would be the vent hose that attaches to the solid sleeve, not the pcv valve (which would be on the other side of the valve cover).

Thoughts?

Does anyone have a pic of the PCV vavle .. and what it's suposed to do this .. ?

Highly apreciated ..

If these pieces are the same as on a '94 :

Then the PCV hose is 12261-66021 , and there is another hose in the same area w/ a P/N of 12262-66021.

I ordered these, and the PCV & grommet , but I do not have the P/N's handy at the time.

I tried the slice method on the grommet, but still wound up fishing pieces of it out of the valve cover w/ a long pair of needle nose pliers.

Oh, well - it's done now ! :D

Britt

Here are the other P/N's ( '94 ) :

Had to dig up an old receipt !

PCV = 12204-35040

Grommet = 90480-18001

Hope this helps! :)
