Im looking for a caliper. Will one from a 91 work on a 94 ??? I remember theres something different because 15 inch wheels will fit on the earlier ones, but not on the later ones.

Will not work as the earlier rotors were both thinner and a smaller diameter, both the early and late calipers use 4 of the same sized pistons etc. so the upgrade/downgrade has little to do with the calipers and lots to do with the rotors.

IS IT BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE?

I mean can I put 93's on my 91? you know calipers and rotors?
If you change the rotor, caliper and dust sheild you should be able to. I have all of the parts sitting in the shop to go with the post ~8/92 brakes on my 90 which have the same front caliper piston size, pads and master cylinder bore as the pre 8/92's so no worries there but I am waiting for 37x17" tyres and 4.88 gears first.

sooooo. that means yes. I can put the bigger calipers/rotors on my 91 without a problem and better braking?????

Me thinks the answer is a qualified yes IF you have all the piece parts and if you are running 16" or bigger wheels/rims...

You will also need 93-up knuckles. The caliper mounting points are different.

???

Post 8/92 calipers and rotors on pre 8/92 axle, progression pictures. Pretty much what I have based my assumptions on but I will pop of a caliper on my 1990 this weekend and try to bolt up a post 8/92 caliper.
