Because outside of maybe top fueled vehicles there isnt an automotive application that diesel isnt superior to gas! AND because we dont have that option here! I have a TDI Jetta, CRD Liberty and a Toyota diesel powered long wheelbase suzuki samurai. I recently sold a 1HZ powered HJ60. Diesel rocks, especially in a four wheel drive environment.

IN Venezuela gas it's the king .. ( since it's free .. WTF ! ) so there is no diesel culture or diesel Cruiser available down there .. ( few ones imported ) but vast majority are gassers ..

and ..

I must admit ( not this 70 series case ) but FZJ71 are just a bitching rocket ..

FREE?!!! Not in Honduras or Guatemala... Gas is super high! Propane however is really CHEAP. Thats why I'm putting a propane system on my rig.

I'm paying 3.80 or something like for US gal here in Panamá .. but when you pay less than 1 USD ( yes one ) to fill your Cruiser ( yap all 24 gals or so ) gas tank to full .. I call it free ..

Sure you have other " issues " to solve/pay but that's another story ..
