Greetings everyone,just wondering if anyone can recommend a good shop(repair) manual if available aftermarket for the BJ 74,I have talked to the parts guy at the local toyota dealer and he is going to check into a factory manual next week.Since this truck was not sold in Canada would a BJ70 do just as well?and is it available?

birfield.com has all the manuals for free download. if you want hard copies for the bj74 you'll need both the b series manual and the 84-90 Body Chassis Manual.

i can't find the part numbers but i'm sure someone will step up to the plate real soon...

your importer should have been able to source you the manuals.
the chassis manual for the 70 series is fine. the factory engine manual covers 3B and 13BT. you can contact ENS toyota they might be able to get you the chassis manual since they sold/sell the 70 series there. talk to Mark.
do not get the austrailan aftermarket manuals, there is not enough detail to do a good job. i bought a few and they are not worth the paper they are written on.
i agree with Mike, down load the info from birfield.com .

This manual is not available from ToyotaUSA. G&Scruiserparts should have some though. What is available to us from TMD is RM132E which only covers the B, 3B, 11B and 14B. Why the two latter engines are included, I'm not sure. Were they ever installed in North American vehicles?

Thanks everyone for the help,sorry for not getting back sooner but the old computer has been giving me nightmares,got in touch with the local dealer again and turns out the chassis manual is still available but theRM035E engine manuals are no longer in print,beanz2 I will give the dealer a call about the RM132E manual or if all else fails try to download.
Anyone have any good suggestions where to buy aftermarket goodies for the 74's.

At the top of the 70 series forum in the stickys. Look for online manuals

EDIT I just had a look and they dont seem to be working,Ive sent the owner a message and will report back when I get an answer.
