So what do I do about this? Doesn't look bad rust wise, but I want to get it stabilized ASAP.

Thanks Spike - At least one person on Mud REALLY doesn't like that product. Do you know why? Are there other options?

The only reason I can see as to why someone does not like it is becasue it sets up firm.

This is designed for exactly what you are using it for.

The other option is a flexable body sealer from 3m. Messy stuff but again it works.

Is it worth getting in there with a dremel and grind down/clean up before application?

In addition to that I would use some bullet rust or POR15 then prime it and paint it...

absolutely. although yours looks actuall really good and I would use a 3m sanding wheel and not a Dremel. It goes on a standard drill and looks like a black sponge wheel.

this is a great idea. another option is naval jelly. it works well on verticle parts as well. just brush it on and clean it off and it kills all rust.

paint and body section would have some good pics and help as well.

Hey Rob! I have a couple tubes of the 3m for this purpose - let me know if you want to hook up and get an extra hand for this? I may have more than i need at this point - you're welcome to buy it if you don't have yours yet. Or i'll squirrel it away for a rainy day - no worries.

Don't tell me that you hav dealt with this recently too!?!?? If so did you like what you used (Fast and Firm vs. Flexible)? Haven't fixed it yet. Damn rain!!

i have this to do on my new truck before paint. definitely back burner... So if you want a hand i'd be happy to help. Truck is in pieces now in garage, otherwise i'd invite you in out of the rain to do this...
I stuck with what CCOT recommended which is the fast n firm stuff.

This is not a put if off project it ,rust, can get quickly out of hand.Prep .before the 3M or it wont work.Prime and paint shortly afterwards. Mike
