.40 over Federal pistons (flat) with Deves Rings. Melling MC803 Cam w/ new Toyo lifters. Chevy valve springs and Mag-Bronze valve guides. Everything else new OEM and stock. Crank .10 under, I think ACL rod and main bearings.

'dat's all. I wanted a nice stout basically stock motor.

Also balanced all rotating parts + clutch.

Looks Great! Who did your rebuild?

Wow-I am jealous. Would your shop do just the machine work and let a customer assemble the motor? That looks super sweet. I'll give you $1000 for it as it sits.:D

Martin Davidson Automotive Machine
Reseda, CA 818-705-2441
Great Guy. Great shop. He'll do whatever level of rebuild you want: Short block. Long Block. Or just machining and Hot tank. Or just head rebuilt.

He does all the motors for MAF (Hi-Po and stock). He's very very patient, as are the two young guys working for him. And He knows these motors cold and has a stock room full of parts just for 2Fs and 3FEs... He doesn't like the F motors, but will work on 'em if asked nicely.

Martin really really pays attention to the details, that's why I let him do the assembly. He builds 'em like it was going into his own truck. Well worth the extra $400.

Tell him Alf sent you.

OK, if you include your FJ40 with it! :grinpimp::grinpimp::grinpimp:

I think for $400, I'd let him build mine too. Seriously, that is extremely nice. My 40 does need a rebuild at some point.

I would have done exactly the same.... Very awesome.

Dude, that is beautiful!

yea thats a good combo of parts and not overdone. its looks purdy. now get it in and let us know how she runs!

So $3,400 is what you get in the picture?

Dan, the actual bill from the machine shop was $2204.79, but I bought the Cam and lifters ($400) and the gasket set ($100) and the oil pump (160 $), and some other miscellaneous items which comes to just under $3k for what you see..

It'll be another 100 bux or so for the work he's doing on the intake/exhaust combo, and maybe a little more if I get the valve cover bead blasted or not... Still haven't decide.

S.

really nice. I paid about 2600 for all the parts, all OEM though, including a new clutch, oil pump, water pump, and all the hoses and belts. Still needed a new CCOT radiator, Downey cam and springs, and MAF headers. On top of that is machine shop work

So yeah, these motor are the equivelent of a gold digger in the engine world!

Good work on tracking down MAF's builder! I suspect they'll see a surge of front-door rebuilds pretty quick. I know it would be hard to go anywhere else if I lived in the area.

What type of valve stem seals are those?? from here looks like those mickey mouse umbrella style

Whats the advantage of the chevy valve springs?

That really Look's good .
