I have been hunting off and on for usable weatherstrip for my half doors for over a year. I don't want to chop up expensive new OEM stuff.

Finally found the perfect product!

Purchased from Auto Zone for $20 per door.

It fills the gaps and is soft so the doors close easily. I have no gaps such as smaller home center weatherstrip bulb seals left.

I used some scotch-brite pads to rough up the contact area and brake cleaner to prep. The seal has self-adhesive tape. I am pondering how best to fill the open cut ends and still allow them to compress. I might glue in some foam from the left over ends.

I forgot to take pics yesterday, but I'll try to add some this weekend.

Good tip!!
I've been wanting to look into something like this just to keep the door from rattling!!

Thanks for the post!!

If you don't mind I'm going to quote info this and copy your photos to this thread (https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/734769-fj40-weatherstripping-guide.html). Is that ok?
