Hey fellas. I picked up one of the neat old jacks today from a cool dude here in Oregon. I have noticed that the screws in this one are different than the Philips head you guys have posted. This one has Flat Driver button head screws. I knoticed that there is one on ebay right now with the same flat head screws.
FJ40 FJ25 FJ45 Toyota Land Cruiser OEM Jack - eBay (item 330538684517 end time Mar-12-11 12:46:44 PST)

Do the Screws indicate a year difference? It still has the TEQ logo and the number 09110-35011. Sorry the Photos are bad Res.

My 63 has the flat head screwed jack for what its worth.

That part number equates to "April72 to Jan79 FJ4#, 55, HJ45, BJ4#".

So you can pass it on to me (since it is a closer fit for my July 79 than for your 62 or 67). ;)

I think a '79 FJ40 had the stamped metal brown-colored jack.

WOW! How did you look the part no. up? this jack came out of my 67' and of course darn near every thing was a basket case when I picked it up about a year ago in Cottage Grove OR. so I can believe it's not the original. found it cliped into the bracket under the driver seat in the tool box. still have the clips on the rear fenderwell and in the box.

OH YEAH! MAJOJO! I found something you might want to go with the jack.
and if you want I'll take out all the clips for you and bring them with me when I go to pick up my new spare tire from your neck of the woods. likely on this saturday. you gonna be around?

Ok I see, but the number is the same on the differnt models as well. If you look at the yellow jacks on the "jack porn" page there are clearly different features such as the bolts being philips and the flange near the top being wider(where shane has put the new sticker he made). Yet the number on them is the same as this one. I am guessing that the philips head jacks are a later model. Can anyone clarify?

I sand blasted my jack this morning. Hit it with som eSEM Self Etching Primer. And then found that "Old Equipment Yellow" Krylon at Napa. Turned out pretty.

It took five coats. might need a couple more. Surface of that metal was rough from the way it was cast.

Mike AFAIK they are Pre-68-69

i have seen the same type with the flat head here on MUD ...i think there was even a discussion about the earler jacks...i think i have a pic of a 1964 jack with the flat head screws...same # and all

Damn.

And I was so proud of getting that "72 to 79 info" from the EPC too......

:meh:

I kinda recall it to be the same ...however its best to ask in the 25 section...maybe somebody can compare to the 25 jack ...if its the same...then it definitly went that far back...i am 100% sure its at least back to 1963

Very nice job on the jack! :)

Edit: probably a dumb question, but is there such a thing as a rebuild kit for these jacks?

Anybody know if its correct enough for my 62 FST?
Very nice! You may want to post the question over in the 25 Section. Lots of anal retentive guys over there:).
