I can't get the name of the guy to come out of the back of my head who cuts the factory non P/S pedestals and alters them to take the mini truck boxes.

I would like the factory mount that is altered and not a JT version.

Anyone know who or has one to sell?

Best,

Shane

I didn't realize someone was modifying manual gearbox pedestals for MT boxes....
Thanks pretty cool

ps bracket

Shane, the one you seek is (or was) made by Hadley Industries. It is a neat, clean, and very well-made bracket, that looks totally stock. It also fits like it is supposed to, unlike the junk made from blocks and angle iron.

Greg,

I was thinking Vic, correct?

I would like one or maybe 10 depending on pricing.

Please email me a pic and details to me at aatlas1x@aol.com

Best,

Shane

just got off the phone w/Hadley Industries, they are $75 each.

from what they described, it sounds like a really clean solution...

Does anyone have pics?

I didn't know there was such a thing. Does this work with the longer '78- steering column? Or do you need the '79+ steering column?

Shane, if your building a nice stocker late model 40, may I recogmend the OEM PS casting with mini truck guts......it makes a OEM 79+ FJ40 PS box, thats what I used and LOVE it, no brackets or other crud.......just OEM PS

not really, looks just like a OEM PS box, used a fj60 PS pump, had to cut down the colume just a tiny bit(PS and manual are different lengths)

not the cheapest way to go but its as close to OEM as you can get.

cost $300-ish for case
whatever a 79-85 mini box goes for
seal kit$50
PS pump/mount, $100
having someone put mini guts in case, reseal/rebuild $200
hose, Edelman(sp) $50
misc bits $100
then paid someone to install it all(didn't want to cut the colume myself)

I wonder if they could make longer schock towers for the front. And one to accept a fj60 ps gearbox....hmm would be if they did.

I cannot find the pic that shows the "after" it was cut pic. If I remember correctly I had the machine shop cut 1 and 1/10 of an inch cut off in order to make the coupler fit correctly. I still have the piece that was cutoff the shaft. I just have to find it. :). On my 79 I ordered the shaft instead of modifying it.
