thanks Sol... that truck is awesome and exactly how I would build Ross's...
Your truck also flies in the face of those who believe there is no room for FJCruisers. I am excited you'll be driving it at Rubithon and I'm sure its going to turn some heads and find its way into Trails.
Nicely done.

Tony,
Quick question regarding my registration. I received my confirmation letter today wit instructions and map. At the bottom of the letter is read" TLCA needs to be current by June 10th"
I may be wrong, not the first time, but I thought that if we opted for the premium package we could have the TLCA payment for next year go towards this year? Please let me know if I am wrong and I will update my TLCA membership now.
PS I really appreciate you running this, I know how hard it is to get this going and get volunteers ;-) Thanks again!

Rubithon registration with First Class TLCA membership, with or without the Premium Package is an
E X C E L L E N T option!
Very convenient (one check/stamp/envelope), membership is always current, you never miss a TT. You will KNOW when it's time to renew. What could be a better reminder to re-up each year? Plus, you'll have another excuse to go to Rubithon every year!
Tony, thanks for making it so easy!

Freakin cool rig...
Got my confirmation last week. No tshirt sizes marked, but guess that will work itself out.
Ok, Vodka.. Tequila CHECK . I have to bring a few bottled beers... it's just not a run if I cant have a good Belgian at the end of the night!
Everyone has tarps on their lists... why?
We just got back from the FJ Moab Spring Fling. Ran the Triple (Poison Spider, Gold Bar Rim, Gold Spike), had the best time. Really psyched for Rubithon now!
63 Days to Rubithon!

Tarps -- It's been known to rain. Many open top FJ40's.
Tarps are really nice if you break... Lot's of super fine granite dust, dirt, mud, etc.

Tarps can also help make a bigger shelter once you are at camp for shade or rain protection.

I can't find pictures from '06's "Camp Mudrak" -- we must have had 60 people under there.

the rain sucked... but the tarped camp parties were awesome. You could literally go from tarp to tarp and party.
the funniest line... raining hard... big jim on the radio... 'Tony, everyone wants a refund!'
I thought it was funny... sitting in a tarped camp.

That is funny... Hoping for good weather, but will pack for otherwise.
Ok, good on the tarps. We sleep in the truck, with the dog, but I can see how it'd be great for shaded area and extra protection. Thanks!

raining hard does not really describe it.
Try this.......
25 degrees, snow flurries, raining so hard I could not see out the windshield at 120:1.
Wind strong enough to fly your tarp town like a kite.
People literally camped where they were and turn tail and run at first light.
Those who made the springs were treated to the best by far friday night in 10 years.
That was one of the best years on record.

You could have been stuck up on Barker Pass in 8+' of snow with Wayes and me. Wayes blows his engine and we need to piggy-back winch for 6 hours in a blizzard to get our rigs out.....A MOST EXCELLENT Rubithon adventure

It is one of those 'receive your fax as an email' services... has been working fine but will check. Maybe I did not pay the bill...
thanks for the heads up!

Wow, the Norcal Wagon Crew meets Uncle Ben's Wild Colorado Bunch...this is going to be an insane Rubithon! To those guys making it out this year, Rubithon '07 was one of the best wheeling trips I've ever been on, and I barely drove 1/8 of the trail on a friend's Cruiser (gracias, Alvaro!). Have an awesome time out there, and don't forget to post some pics for us wannabe's!
