100% original black paint, 165,000 mile, $9500

This site has been so helpful over the years I want to offer my car here first. I purchased this truck new at Scottsdale Lexus in 1997 for my wife who used it for errands and to drive the kids around when they were little. It has never been off road and has never been used to tow, and because we live in Phoenix the car has rarely ever been driven in the rain. The car has never been in an accident and has 100% original paint that still looks better than many 3 year old cars. It has also been been garaged to keep it out of the sun. Because of this, working on the car is like working on a new one. There is absolutely no rust under the car and all the nuts and bolts turn off like new. It has been regularly waxed and carefully maintained since new with oil and filter changed every 5000 miles, and the transmission, differentials and transfer case changed per factory recommendations. The transmission fluid and radiator have been regularly flushed at the dealer, and the brake fluid flushed at least every two years. A couple of years ago the original aluminum radiator started to leak and I replaced it with the copper Toyota radiator. You will have to look long and hard for a better maintained one-owner LX450.

Every replacement part on this car has always been 100% Lexus/Toyota except for a set of 4 Bilstein shocks. Never any cheap aftermarket parts. Even the power antenna and the cd changer still work like new. The carpet floor mats are still the factory Lexus originals that look good and the carpet underneath is excellent, as it has never had winter salt slop on it.

The only significant flaws in the car are a scrape in the plastic left front bumper cap, a scrape on the rear bumper above the hitch, some stains in the clear coat of the hood where some birds pooped on it, and the leather on the front seat cushions is worn and cracked. The rest of the leather is in super condition.

I would not hesitate to drive this car cross-country tomorrow…it is fully serviced and ready to go.

Why am I selling it? My wife finally agreed to get a new car, and we got a new black GX460 that is amazingly similar to this old LX450.

The Michelins were installed at 138,610 miles. They were the second set I have installed, so the originals and the other set I replaced each lasted about 64,000 miles. So these tires should have many more miles left on them. And they have no vibration driving at 70 MPH.

I would get in trouble if I parked a third 80 series in the driveway, but I sure hope someone picks this up and keeps it as clean and stock as it has been. What a great truck.
