SOLD.......

I had a 2H (163k miles from cruiserparts.net) professionally installed into my FJ62.
The rig has:
NEW 5-speed (H55F) from cruiserparts.net replacing the problematic automatic tranny. Cost $6700 for engine / tranny package alone (not including installation).
transfer case out of an FJ60.
new clutch / rear main seal
All correct parts for 2H conversion including drive shafts, crossmember, vacuum pump, clutch pedal, etc.
New alternator
new hoses
new glowplugs
New fuel filters
New oil filter

The truck is "nicely built":
ARB front bumper with 8074 Warn Winch w/ new cable, new hook, new controller, and new fairlead (not shown in pictures)
ARB side steps (that tie into the front bumper)
OME 2.5" lift (heavy)
ARB locker in rear axle
Detroit locker in front axle
ConFer half length roof rack
Rebuilt power steering gearbox
Receiver hitch
33-12.5 x R16 Grabber MT's - good tread left
Less than 1000 miles on rebuilt Birfs including all related bearings.
Truck has no electric windows or locks (a plus in my book...) No sunroof.

Tree rash on passenger rear quarter panel. Some paint is fading a bit. There has been some sheet metal repair at both rear wheel wells. Also, just yesterday, I rescued a Land Rover Discovery and kissed a tree on the driver's side rear quarter but not as bad as the other side. No good deed goes unpunished... Will get pics of that later along with interior shots if anyone is interested.

A/C has new hoses and is operational.
Carpet is out. I will include a gallon of bedliner.
Rear bumper needs plastic end caps, but I was waiting on a good deal for a new rear bumper.
The engine smokes a bit on startup.
Tcase leaks a little bit.

Vehicle is garaged. Other than equipment mentioned above, vehicle has 224k miles on it
Price includes lots of extra parts.

Asking $5900 OBO Located in Gloucester, VA 23061

looks awesome, so why o why are you selling it if you just got it done? Diesel 60 series are everyone's dream on here...

I'd like to buy it but I've got too much invested in my 60 already.

Yep, that was my dream too. I am essentially selling all of my rigs, except for the 2004 Disco as my daily driver. I just don't have time to wrench on or wheel any of my trucks, and I just hate to see them sit. They need to be out on the trail. I was working part time over the last year or so, and I had lots of time to tinker and play. Now, I am working overtime for the foreseeable oh-so-long future. I should be grateful for this considering the economy, but I think that my job really gets in the way of my life :crybaby:

What's really annoying is that the Disco that got stuck was actually in my front yard... Although, it's not your average front yard... It will be a few more weeks before this rig is ready to go. I am putting in the new alternator, and fixing a few electrical issues mentioned above and working overtime at my real job. If anyone wants it as is, make an offer. It does start, run, drive, offroad; everything else works.

The truck does have some decent batteries from WalMart, but I am thinking about Yellow Tops to complete my vision for this truck.

I will add more pics, hopefully tomorrow.
Cheers,
Chuck

Nice truck
also what you have there is the 1st ARB bull bar in the states plus the 1st OME kit too . They were in MAF catalog but on a brown fj60 .
Also can you remove my phone # from the windows since my dildo brother didn't when he sold the truck a couple of years ago

Thanks

Roger that...

More Pics

Here is a link to more pics. Let me know if it doesn't work. First time to use that site. I forgot to mention that I have the FSM's for the 2H and the FJ62. Notice the tear in the driver's seat, but the dash is in pretty good shape along with the headliner.

Also, I will be scraping that phone number off of the side windows.

How loud is it without any carpeting on the inside?

Definitely a beautiful truck. Good luck with the sale.

The 2H is actually pretty darn quiet. My only comparison though is my other diesel in a Land Rover Series III (also for sale) as seen in the link to the pics. That thing is loud...

This is back up for sale. I decided to keep it since the last post, but now I am moving out of my 6-car garage spaces into a townhouse across the country :(

I've worked out the few electrical issues. I still haven't had the new A/C lines made (I typically don't use a/c), but all the equipment is there ready to go.

The engine still smokes a bit on startup. I've gotten as far as pulling the exhaust manifold to see that it's the first cylinder only. Probably a glow plug or injector. The smoke goes away after about 20-30 seconds.

I need to sell this by mid-July. So, with that in mind I'm dropping the price to $8500 OBO. Thanks!
Chuck

Ah, That was a diesel Land Rover Series III (older than a Defender). I've sold that already, and I've removed it from my sig line. Still have the Yellow '94 gasser Defender soft top w/ 46k miles, though. $29,900 for that one (has $27k of upgrades with receipts), but I don't want to hijack my own thread...

PM sent.
There is some surface rust on the frame at the back. However, the frame is solid. I put a jack at the vehicle at the spot in question on the frame and jacked up the vehicle enough to get the tire off the ground to show that it's solid there. See pics.

Well, I've been dealing with a family emergency, getting the a/c fixed (it works now), and looking into the smoke on start up. It looks to be a glow issue, but I'm taking it to "The Diesel Expert" around these parts on Tuesday to get it checked out.
