Registration opens Jan. 17 th for Cruise Moab, Rising Sun Toyota 4x4 Club * Denver, CO
The dates are Apr.29-May 3, we plan to leave on Apr. 25 or 26 and stay for a week or so after the event. The good news is we now have a 4 car trailer to go behind my truck. Rob, Todd S. and I will have spots spoken for, which leaves one spot on the trailer, also Spanky and Nick (j**p guy) are both driving their semi's and should have a couple of extra spaces. Those that want to drive their rigs are welcome to join the convoy. For those that commit early I will reserve spaces at Slickrock campground. They also have sleeping cabins, I plan to reserve one for myself.

I put in for leave today ,but not sure how long I will stay up there after event all depends on work

Ditto here. I have plenty of vacation time on the books; but I am just getting started with a big project, so I can not avoid the pressures and commitments that enter there.

Registration is open, you have to sign up for your trail rides when you register, here is what I recommend for the 40's and Wagons with lochers and 34+ inch tires;

Thurs.- Behind the rocks
Friday (Meal and Raffle so go easy)-Gold Bar Rim
Sat.-Golden Spike
I will wait a couple of days for comments before I register. Some of the rides fill uop early so we need to register soon. Link is in first post.

We still have the 4 th spot on the trailer open, if fuel stays below $3/ gal the cost for the round trip will be under$500.

Roger will my truck fit

Folks I would love to say I was in but......... without a job I can't do it.

Maybe if a job came around I could but right now I'm out....... if it comes back to bite me well guess it wasn't to be:meh:

Yes, either the 100 or the 40

put me on then 100 is about 125'' with tire on the back
is the space for me in truck ore do I need to fly out

Larry,

Claim the 4th spot on the new trailer and fly out/back!

Todd,
I surely want to, but money has me stalled trying to get Carolyn's approval. My first two crates of Cruiser parts is on the way from Japan now, but until they get here I don't know all the costs to clear customs & such. Since this is my expense and an unknown on top of the known expensess (increased UGA costs for the spring semester, tanked stock market, ...), she is being very inflexible on approving this. I am not giving up yet, but it looks like Marius just took the last spot on the trailer so Carolyn may have won big.

Katemy is probably non-viable for me too for physical limits. I made the drive to Athens (GA for my expensive students) yesterday and found it to be a real struggle. It was less than 90 minutes each way in the BJ, but it was pretty much my limit. The muscles were fully locked-up and painful so I would have had to stop if we had not arrived. This leaves me thinking that I could not viably make the drive to Texas and back without stopping hourly to stretch & get myself ready for the next hour. This would drag out the trip a lot and make it unreasonable for others trying to caravan with me.

Thanks. I hope to see all of you before GSMTR.

Truck seats five and I am working on converting the back seat to air ride.
Flying is a hassle as there is no commerical airport close, have to fly to CO and rent a car and drive 4-5 hrs.

.

Spanky and Nick will have a couple of spaces left on their Trucks if Carolyn changes her mind.

Directions off google show it is less than 120 miles from Grand Junction to Moab by car and round trip airfare from Atlanta to Grand Junction is $320 on Frontier. I did not check into any flights from the airports closer to you and Marius, but there might be something. (I had tried to be fairly complete in my research for the case I have been making to Carolyn)

Thanks. I will continue to press my case.

That's a good deal, did not realize it was that close, those that have done it in the past complained about the long drive. Don't know if anyone going with Spanky or Nick are flying but might be able to coordinate schedule and share a rental car or might be able to find some one willing to drive Marius's 100 up to pick up people.

Maybe a barter system could be arranged for such a kindness ... case of Marius' preferred beverage? (per passenger per trip)

Roger,
Congratulations on the new trailer. It looks great and boy is it big.

So who's RVs are we taking? Or are we planning on setting tents up on the trailer? What's the plan?

The trailer is too long to take into the campground, it will be dropped in a lot down the road. We have two tractors with sleepers and will also set up tents. The RV spaces have power, water, tables and charcoal grills.
