I thought that there might be a little more interest in these.

TTT

forgive my ignorance but is there some kind of advantage to running these?

I thought these wouldn't fit on the front of a 100?

I'm interested in one of these for my brother-in-law. His 100 series didn't come with a spare...I have the following questions:

1. Will this fit on a 100 series cruiser (front and back)?
2. How much for you to ship (just rim, tube, flap) to 17353
3. Is it difficult to find a shop that will work with these or will any decent tire shop be able to mount?

Thanks!

Jason

I have not checked this thread in awhile. Sorry about that.

We still have quite a few of these rims/tires available. To the best of my knowledge, they will fit the front of a 100. I know they fit the rear. The next time we have a 100 around and I have the time, I will test fit them.

Shipping is usually $25 for a rim.

Tires are 32" tall and 7" wide. Tall and skinny. Advantage is mostly looks and wear. These are fairly heavy duty tires and should last awhile. We have a set at the shop with 6K miles on them and they look as good as the new ones we are selling.

FWIW, we still quite a few of these tires left. I have posted them on a Rover forum and they are selling quite well. I will be putting a set on the OEM split rims for my FJ45 SWB.

Since I don't check my threads very often, please email or call the shop for more info. You can also PM me if you like.

Thanks.

We seem to be selling more tires than rims. We still have a few sets available:

Now selling tires: 5 for $300 or $65/each

Rims: We will make you a helluva a deal on the rims. Call or PM for prices.

There has been some questions if these 16" split rims will fit the front of a 100 series. I tried one on my mother-in-law's 2000 UZJ100 and it fit just fine. I will post a pic soon.

To fit these rims on a 100, you will need to change the lug nuts from washer style to an acorn style.

Also, these rims would be very cool to have widened by Stockton Wheel and made into a one piece rim rather than a 2 piece split rim.

I finally stopped at the shop on the way out to Utah on a wheelin trip to get some of these tires. I swapped 5 tires on split rims at the shop and headed out to the maze and doll house. The tires are nice and quiet on the highway. They cruise at 75 with ease. They do real well offroad. I was hitting 65mph on dirt roads out there and they did just as well on the rock and sand overland trails that are popular in utah. We pretty much had everything, high speed mesa's, snow packed decent on the flint trail, some slick rock sections, loose rock, sand, etc. On the way home over vail and thru the tunnel they just as well through the pounding snow packed roads. Pretty much everything in one trip. I'd buy them again. I should probably buy another set for reserve ;) and I don't think I need to say it but I will anyway, you can't go wrong with John and Proffitts Cruisers!

Ahhh, Wes....you are making me blush.

Glad you like the tires and that they worked out well for you. They sure look good on your 70. I am jealous you guys went to the Maze...maybe next time I can meet up with you.

Thanks for the report on the tires. I have a set on my 45 SWB and they work well. I have over 100 miles on them but no off road miles. I was curious to know how they handled. Thanks.

damn, i dig these, and they would look so cool on my 100. i like the idea of hte "split" wheel too... always wanted a set on my 60.

What is the width of the wheel? And if possible can you post pictures of these wheels on a 100? Thank you.

I have a lot of the rims left as I have sold more tires than wheels. I will let the wheels go cheap since I have so many.

What is the width of the wheel? And if possible can you post pictures of these wheels on a 100? Thank you.

The wheel itself is about 6" wide so you are not going to get a really wide tire on it. I think a 10" tire would be about as wide as you would want to go. A 255/85R16 would be as wide as I would go.

One of the pictures above is a wheel/tire combo mounted on a 100. The wheels fit just fine and there are no issues with clearance. They are factory Toyota after all.

As far as a picture goes, I don't have one that I have taken. However, here is Kurt from Cruiser Outfitters with a 105 with the OEM split rims. Pretty good looking if you ask me.....the 105 with split rims that is....not Kurt :D

it just joined the family...

and emails bounced back and forth, looks like it will have split wheels at some point.

NO MORE TIRES; I HAVE SOLD OUT OF TIRES

However, I do have a lot of 16" split rims left and a lot of tubes/liners.

$15 for each 16" split rim (5 on 150 pattern only)

$25 for the tube/liner combo

$35 if you buy the wheel/tube/liner
