Good if you want that power and can get the cooling system and cooked starter motor isues dealt with. The sbc is still the best non toyota gasser swap you can do.
My mechanics son had a 427 BB in his 73 anD they swear it could wheel stand:D

yah and swallow gas like a....... I'll not try this one

427 would be not even get miles per gallon....LOL.

Actually I owned a truck this year with a 460 ford. It was OK on fuel if you drove it gentle. Hard and it drained 130 litres like a 10 year old kid on the pop. Gulp!

I would be more inclined to get a v6 or 4 banger for that truck. But a 350 would pack a nice punch. And I agree it is one of the best supported domestic engines. And they can last well over 300k kms if treated ok.

I still wouldnt waste a HZJ77 by putting a sbc into it. Maybe something old, cheap and plentiful like a 60 or a FJ75

427 .. WTF !

Here is a common conversion for 40 series 350 Chevy and keep the rest drive train in Toyota .. more than gas milleage and heat problems .. it's a nice upgrade for more power cheap ..

P.S. not apropiate for river crossing or much water ! hahahahah
