Doug DeMuro did a review of a 2018 LC.

His car review videos are pretty impressive, he is a fan of the LC.

Worth a watch if you have 24min to spare. Nothing anyone here doesn't already know but he more than others seems to understand why we buy these.

I don't know his show that well but I thought he underscored the LC greatly in wrong areas. While I do think some parts of the Land Cruiser are antiquated and less luxurious but there is no comparison between an LC and any other SUV in terms of reliability and repair costs. That should hamper scores of other vehicles tremendously. Also, the rugged nature of the LC which counts against it for luxury ride but is a big plus from a longevity point of view. Also, for value it is a tremendous value since it doesn't drop resale like a german.

I did like his passion last year when I saw him review the Tesla but now I find it to fake and too forced. Also, going into extreme details about car interiors seems so vain other than on a luxury ride. Cars are not about cosmetics to me they are about the overall package. This is where the Land Cruiser bests other vehicles as it lasts 4+ times as long as most cars.

Doug DeMuro is awful. He's a walking clickbait article. Not watching.

Check out 4WDAction if you are hankering for 200 videos. Not a review series but the past couple episodes had a 200. And, spoiler, snapped a CV. :D

I think you misunderstood my point. I wouldn't call him click bait and his 2million subscribers wouldn't as well. He is reviewing the LC and other cars for the masses. What I like about him is the nerdy way he reviews things. He goes into some crazy details. Watch some of his other videos, he reviews some amazing cars. The "Doug Score" even he admits favors luxury cars and super exotics. He isn't the guy for a hardcore off road review.

I think many points on his review were fair. He was critical of the 3rd row - many here do not like, he mentioned that the infotainment was ancient - another big issue here for many. He likes the V8 but bemoans the poor fuel economy - many here feel the same way. He mentions the durability, reliability and overall legendary stature.

I just figured some may enjoy the video.

Ya...
Most snapped CVs I see in Aussie videos are where they are locking the fronts...but totally FLOORING it with one or both front wheels spinning in the air...trying to come up and out of an obstacle. That’s like ASKING for a snapped CV with front diff locked. They bounce around in the air spinning...and then when they finally grab...SNAP. But that’s just about any CV. Not just LCs.

Thanks for sharing. It was a fun and informative watch. One can learn a lot about the LC/LX and why it costs so much.

I didn't really agree with the final "Doug Score." I personally would never buy a Ranger Rover, Q7, or Navigator over the LC.

From what I remember he wasn't locked or doing anything particularly difficult. Nothing near what we've done before. He was towing a trailer though. The 4WDAction guys bring trailers a lot. I assume mostly for advertising and partly to see if they can do the trails with a trailer. You'd be surprised what they bring a trailer through though.

It's a great YouTube series. Graham takes a little getting used to but Shaun seems pretty cool.
