Most commonly used tool sizes
1/2, 9/16 chime in and fill everyone in

1/2 and 9/16 maybe for the ratchet drives, but FYI Toyota's are all metric. Use a standard as a substitute and sooner or later you're replacing bolts, nuts and knuckle skin.

8-17mm for most stuff, stick w/ 6 point sockets so you dont round off bolt and nut heads. Then there's the bigger stuff like the hub nut sockets/etc. for trailside issues and repairs.

Breaker bar, cheater tube, BFH, BFM, etc all will fit into a 5 gallon box easily.

I just use pos craftsman for trail and travel stuff b/c the good tools need to not get lost in the dirt. The black plastic boxed stuff is stowable, portable, and still carries the guarantee.

Even a lower count piece set can be used as there's some space in the pocket to add other tools and you can always remove and/or sell off and substitute the standard stuff for more metric choices.

There is a tool thread in the FAQ.

When traveling I keep my tools in heavy duty cloth bags. That way they back tight. 54mm is the big axle nut. It requires a thin walled socket, but not that much torque. There are a few sizes you will want two wrenches each of. The drive shaft bolts are an example of this.
