Need it done on my 99LC with 163k miles, pukes fluid everywhere. With several places doing black friday sales anyone know where to get the best deals?

Most of the posts i searched for with recommendations on parts and prices are several years old.

OEM rack is generally only available through the dealer or major parts suppliers (partsouq). I don't recall any of them offering a BF discount, I'd look at the cheapest online price, maybe see if they offer a Mud or TLCA discount, and go with that.

You can cheap out on seals and such, but this is a fairly important part, given the drive by wire system in your truck. I wouldn't buy anything other than OEM, unless I had a really informed reason to do so.

Drive by wire?

Your ‘99 LC is still as analog as it gets. Your steering wheel has a direct shaft connection to the rack and your accelerator pedal has a cable to the throttle body. 🙂

Yeah i was wondering where he got that from.

Yep. Same part number for both models in that time. 44250-60050

Stupid question i onow but will that fit the Land Cruiser with no modifications?

The eBay rack doesn't look like the new OEM rack that I installed last summer.

Well i picked up a new rack from the dealership today showed them the link and they beat the price on the add. So im happy i saved some money.
Wow, if your local dealer matches online prices you’re lucky! My dealer gave me some line about online dealers selling for less than their actual cost, or selling grey market goods. I highly doubt McGeorge or others are doing either.

It's a simple thing of customer service. the first dealership I went to gave me that same bull**** lineup so it's not actual Toyota parts and that McGeorge was reman/used parts. AND THEY wanted 150 core charge. Plus shipping from Houston!!!!! So in front of the guy i called another dealership 22 miles away and they had it in stock and told me to come get it and they would beat their price online if i broght them my business. Well i walked out the door while the guy started getting gripped at by his boss who was 10 feet away on the phone.

Another seemingly stupid question... Is there any reason that you know of that the 44250-60050 would not fit on a 2006 LX470? Did they change a fitting or move a hose? 44200-60100 is a bit more expensive but is what mine calls for...

Sure it's your rack leaking? A leaky hose will make it's way down there and be pretty deceiving.

PS _ My local dealer will also match online prices but it took a bit of a relationship building time, buying a pile of parts, before they were OK with it. They treat it like a wholesale account.
