Appears like the 2980 is done, replaced with the 3185 - pretty similar specs, but 85W instead of 80, and new digital noise reduction that looks like it works pretty well.
Down side, at least in Canada it's $100 more expensive than the old 2980, pricing it similar to what the dual band FTM-6000 USED to be.
I expect that one will bite the dust soon too as the new FTM-150RASP will make it obsolete.
