I dont even want to look:steer:...... but it would be interesting to find out:hhmm:

i didnt find much change when i went to 33's, but i did find a slightly better MPG when i went to 36, but only on flat ground, speed and mileage went way down on hills. i only know this through rough checks, when taking trips on flatter parts of my state vs. hilly parts. so i guess it really depends on where you mostly drive. sorry i dont have hard numbers.

I do have some anecdotal experience here...
Coming back from Moab in '01, on 33s, fully laden, I was getting approximately 14 MPG. Figuring about a 10% odometer error. Fresh rebuild on the late F...
These days, with the 35s, I'm getting maybe 13.5 on the highway. Figuring maybe 13 or 14% odo error. Fresh rebuild on the 2F.
But the 33s were mud terrains, now I got swampers. And I'm a little higher these days (SOA). And a little heavier. And that roof rack isn't helping either.
But I don't pay much attention, nor do I fill up my tank very often.

Thank you for that OH so wonderful input that answers nothing about the original question.:rolleyes: Please point out where I say I was concerned with the gas mileage? You can't point it out because I never said I was:censor:

Perhaps read where I said "This is more of a curiosity thing than anything" THEN offer some input.:rolleyes: Hard for me to give a crap about gas mileage when I put maybe 5k miles on my car a year:grinpimp:

:flipoff2: do we need a group hug??

Yeah, that did kinda come across "dick-like". EVERY single week there is a new thread from some noob called, "gas milliage" or "12MPG!?!?" or something similar. I get super sick of it and wish the MODS would just delete them. If I would have got my head out of my ass for 5 seconds I would have realized youre not a noob. Anyway, my apolgies. The point still stands though: no one checks cause no one wants to know the true answer :flipoff2:

Lower HWY RPM's, but more rolling resistance. I've heard going from 31" to 35" with the same driving style is a toss up. My buddy drives a 98' durango on 39" TSL's with 5.13's and gets about 11 MPG which is only 2-3 less than when he had 31" BFG A/T's once upon a time...

Sorry for being a dick...

You might be doing even better than you think:

When I went to 33s from stock, the change was 16% or so, according to GPS. I don't know what 35s do...

My mileage is still crappy.

:meh:

My low mileage piggy is a source of beauty and pride.

My personal policy is: if I can afford to drive this, that is my :censor: business. :flipoff2::D

That said, I have never done the math yet- because my tank leaks when full so I never quite fill it to the top - and therefore have no reference point to measure the gallons I put back in.
