I agree... If I were doing a real resto I'd complain

Looks nice. I thought about doing that but had just a strip of metal in mind so, I decided I did not like the idea. Your tack and similar color material go well together and make it fairly nice. Good idea. And nicely done.

What door w/s are you using? And any pictures of the windshield area?

I guess I will still go with the new rubbers. Particularly since my brittle (NM sun) wind shield is so brittle it lets water in around the rubber and glass.
 
On the rear door openings, he put on some WS/trim that closely matched the old gray stuff that was there- it's black and has no seal bead on the outside (I think the SOR version does? I forget.)

Around the front windshield he tucked it under with glue- it has a new window replaced last year so that WS was pliable enough to do the tuck method. It's not perfect though, I'd rather see the tack strip method up there myself. I'll get a photo up today.
