B engines H41 were used with one piece and split transfer cases. Count the tailshaft splines.

Thank you for the heads up. Wouldn't the H41 for a split case have a 'spacer' like the H42?

Good chance no H41 ever had a spacer. Those were in very few markets that for what ever reason didn't import the H55F. Toyota just added the spacer to standardize everything to match the standard H55F most markets got. 11/84 was the start of the 3F bellhousing for the five speed. Toyota just made the change to a four speed and the rest that matched the H55F on 4/85.

As I said before, I am interested in the H41 pending pics of the cleaned up gears. I have had to abandon two 4 speeds in the last year because of excessive pitting.
