I was the one who picked up the '81 from Raleigh. Not gonna lie - the wife wasn't super stoked since I still have my '70 project sitting in the other garage stall while her car sits in the OR rain in the driveway. Planning on finishing up the '70 within the next month or two. Should come out pretty nice then I'll spruce up the '81. Any interest in a stock '70?

I found this on the Detroit CL, it's an 81 and asking a bit above your $$ range but it might be negotiated down. Seems like a really nice rig. Couple of fishy things in the ad though, first the background is definitely not Detroit. Second, I hate when ads have the wierd asking price, ($24,780 in this case) which is another red flag. Anyway, was doing my regular every couple of days search, found this one and remembered you are looking. I am NOT affiliated, I don't dig the scammer crap!

Thanks for the heads up Pat, really appreciate you keeping an eye out. Definitely seems fishy. Same one is listed for sale in Cleveland(1981 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Land Cruiser) and on another thread there's some comments about those photos being from an FJ guy in Montana. The search continues...
Ah yes, kinda figured. It used to be the scammer morons put a stupid low price on items. Now the prices are getting closer to realistic, but still obvious red flags.
Wished I would have used this forum before I bought my first. Would have saved me 10K in repairs.
